Shah Jahan did everything he could to build the Taj Mahal to perfect symmetry. He built a mosque to the west of the Taj. On the eastern side, he build another building called a "jawab" (answer). This building is nearly identical to the mosque, but since it doesn't face mecca it doesn't include a mihrab, and therefore cannot be used as a mosque.
As a society that faces the collapse of communities how do we continue to form visceral, face-to-face connections? This complex problem inspired The Call and Answer Project, which addresses the need for human connection, the value of touch and the pleasure involved in community-oriented folk dance. As part of Northern Spark, The Call and Answer Project will be hosting an all night Square Dance and book making marathon at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts. The goal is to print 2000 booklets on four presses with the help of volunteers while also keeping an all night square dance going. We will have unlimited fiddle music, coffee and homemade pie! Be there and be square!

At last! I've come to answer your Smokestack and holes in the foundation question! This is why. Korea is very proud of their hot floors! The have a furnace under the floor which heats the floor so that, while your body may be cold, your feet are nice and toasty! I didn't see the big deal till I was at my second hostel, they had heated floors. It was very nice! Also if you put your pants out on the floor the night before, when you wake up in the morning your pants are nice and warm!
