One of my favorite baristas brought out her camera. An actual camera! I had a play with it and was heartened by how easy it was to use.

Over edited from Raw, I loved the contrast between her red hair and the green wall and plants.

I made this yesterday for 40 and had some left over. Soup is always better on the second day! It is easy to make, and fairly cheap, too. This all took about 40 minutes to produce, including veg prep. I am blessed to have a food processor to do all the heavy chopping.

Ingredients

Sweet potato

Carrots

A can or two of good tomatoes

Onion

Ginger

Olive (or canola) oil

Chili flakes

Garlic

Stock )veg or chicken)

Garnish with anything - I used rocket because I had some in the kitchen; pepper and a dollop of yoghurt

How

In a big pan

Heat up a little oil

Add chopped onions and garlic and sweat for a while

Add ginger and chili

Stir and heat till fragrant

Add the rest of everything and cover with the best stock you have

Raise to a boil and then allow to simmer for 20 minutes or so

Use an immersion blender to render everything into a creamy pan of love

Add salt if you think it needs it.

Garnish and Serve.

Even without the actual sun, the sky had bid adieu to Wednesday in spectacular form.

I can't understand how a shop window is allowed to become so rotten!

It's that time of year again. Just the job on a chilly morning.

Some people whom one meets are just delightful. To be in their company is like seeing these flowers in the afternoon sunshine.

Evidence of a hedge that was laid and then neglected. To watch a skilled hedgelayer at work is a rare joy.

The Gregson is a community owned and led arts and cultural center in Lancaster. It is a gem.

Everything from slavonic folk singing to French cinema to poetry groups and anything you can think of. it's awesome. and the garden in the yard is a joy.

Said Bear seems happy to see my latest find: a brand new set of what I used to call 'Manchester', but locals here call it bedding.

I think the change from 'white over white' will make a nice change as we prepare for summer.

I thought these geese were heading off for the winter but it transpires they are arriving to over winter here.

This line to Carlisle hugs the coast. It's a delight to travel.

So let's face the music and dance 😄

A host of narcissus thalia daffodils enjoying a last hurrah in the afternoon sun.

The undulations are a challenge to injured Achilles tendons but the walk is so rewarding.

No crowds, just sunshine filtering through the canopy and birdsong.

Fall is my season

Obsessed with the color change

And the crispy air

The afternoon light became quite peculiar for a few minutes.

The work of seconds with a bolt cropper and someone's treasured bike is gone.

Nobody sees anything. It's a shame.

Corollary - use a U bolt lock, or tie a wolverine to the frame if you leave your bike for even a few minutes.

Just playing with the editor.

This is not a nice place to walk. It reeks.

And having writ, moves on.

It's always interesting to see what has been written this week. It's a shame the calligraphy is so poor.

Can anyone translate the Chinese characters, please?

There are several types of hydrangea. This is one of my faves.
