Travelling home from work on Monday afternoon and the sky seemed just about OK for a long awaited trip up the scaffold at the east face of York Minster (It's not what you know....)

A rare chance to see at close quarters what very few of the general public have ever got to see, the great work by the team of stonemasons based at the minster and even better than that, a chance to hear the rather amusing stories behind some of the new grotesques, most of which I unfortunately can't share.
