I participated in the 33rd Foreign Artists Exhibition in Nagoya from 30th October until 4th November. This year I exhibited prints from four 19th century processes: calotype, cyanotype, kallitype and Van Dyke Brown. This is one of the Van Dyke brown prints.
Mari was our first paid black glass ambrotype client at @photo_retro_nh. Her mom Malissa bought her a session for her birthday and we spent a great evening making plates.
I love everything about shooting these.
I'm still learning how to balance the color of the scans of the plates against the originals, so please be forgiving with these examples.

New Chrysotype S on Arches Aquarelle. Starting to get subtile shades of lavendar but they are disappearing with dry down. Such a shame. Not sure what the name of the animal is, hard to figure out now that I've changed its colors.
See set for description.
This is just this image reversed and made more contrasty. The right side is the spine side.
The original edition had this image for the back.
