This is a photograph from the Naomh Mhuire AC Daingean "Ambrose Hickey Memorial" 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which was held in Daingean, Co. Offaly, Ireland on the 21st June 2019 at 19:30, the day of the Summer Solstice 2019. The race is the 7th race of the Offaly AAI Road Race Series. The Daingean 5KM has a long tradition in road racing in the Midlands. For many years in the 1990s and 2000s the famous looped 5KM road race took place in the village on the Friday of the August Bank Holiday weekend. The route has subsquently been adapted and altered but still retains a very flat and fast overall profile. The start and finish are on the main street of the village. The main street is situated on the R402 and the village is positioned midway between the towns of Tullamore and Edenderry on this important regional road. The Grand Canal also flows throw the Village. In past times the surrounding Bog of Allen and Bord na Mona provided employment to the locality. While this has changed now Daingean retains a strong and proud status as a village situated in East Offaly and in the Heart of the Midlands.
The race was event managed and electronically timed by Co. Kildare Company Popup Races. You will find the results of the race on the Popup Races website. A wonderful spread of refreshments were provided after the race and prize giving was held in the town hall in the middle of the Village.
Weather conditions were good for racing. Whilst the weather is not perfect summer weather the conditions were good for road racing with the bright evening and relatively calm conditions. two more pages in the archery guide i'm altering. the left page is paint scraped with a credit card. a light wash was done over the parts that were not painted. i sprayed the page with water and scraped again resulting in the splattered look. the right page was partially covered with masking tape and a row of alphabet stickers was placed down the edge of the page. i scraped paint over the page then sprayed with water and scraped again. after the page was dry i rubbed over the letters with oil pastels.
This is the first altered book I am attempting. I started with a pretty old Bible dictionary and these are my first pages. Not sure if I like them yet. May change them some more.

A custom book created to be part of a book collection. Pretty much the contents of my brain squashed between the cover of a vintage photo album. Embellished of course!
Diciembre 08 de 2017. El nuevo casco urbano de Gramalote es una realidad y en él ya habitan más de 500 personas. Así lo corroboraron en la visita de supervisión de avance de obra que hicieron el Ministro de Hacienda, Mauricio Cárdenas Santamaría, y el gerente del Fondo Adaptación, Iván Mustafá Durán.
“Tenemos un avance del 80% de todo el casco urbano del municipio totalmente terminado y antes del finalizar el Gobierno del Presidente Santos habremos entregado la totalidad de lo que nos comprometimos. Sin embargo, este como cualquier otro municipio va a seguir creciendo y por eso requerirá de nueva infraestructura paulatinamente”, dijo el gerente del Fondo Adaptación.
Durante la visita comprobaron que ya está totalmente terminada la Plaza de Mercado, el parque principal, el centro administrativo municipal, el acueducto y alcantarillado, la vía de acceso al municipio de 8,8 kilómetros y las vías de acceso a los barrios.
Adicionalmente, al finalizar este año se habrán terminado 700 viviendas de las cuales se han entregado 321 y de ellas 186 ya están habitadas.
"Para finales de julio del próximo año también habremos entregado el nuevo colegio y el hospital de Gramalote", dijo Mustafá Durán.
De otra parte, se anunciaron nuevas inversiones por cerca de $23.000 millones para la construcción del polideportivo, Casa del Campesino, Casa del Adulto Mayor y Casa de la Cultura.
“Son obras complementarias que se habían solicitado y para lo cual e ha hecho un esfuerzo adicional consiguiendo los recursos que hoy se están anunciando con el Ministro de Hacienda”, puntualizó el funcionario.
