Memorial to the men who lost their lives in the 1988 Piper-Alpha oil platform disaster in the North Sea.
This is a frame from my first black and white film in many years. Shot on 27th November 2016. Camera was an Olympus 35 EC. Ilford FP4 Plus film, developed in Ilfosol 3. Negative scanned on a Minolta Scan Elite film scanner.

One of the tallest buildings in Birmingham the Alpha Tower has 28 floors and stands at 328 feet. A prominent landmark it resembles the Pirelli Building in Milan. This particular building is a smaller version by It was built to a design by George Marsh of Richard Seifert & Partners. It was completed in 1970.

Kappa Alpha Fraternity (Alpha Rho chapter) at WVU, around 1912. I'm not sure what/where the building is. Anyone know? It doesn't look like the old Kappa Alpha house that was demolished a few years ago, I think that was a brick building.

This is a cake that I did for a local Alpha Conference. They let me choose the flavors and the design. It was a big cake (14, 10, 8) that was ordered on Friday and confirmed on Sunday so not much time for preparations. I would have loved to have done more with the globe on top but there was not enough time.
Big cakes are so much different to put together. One thing that I learned on this cake is that you do not need to roll the fondant thin to get a sharp edge. The time was limited and the cake was big so I did not roll the fondant as thin as I usually do but still managed to get a sharp edge by using two fondant smoothers in a crimping fashion.

My new Bont Alpha skate compared to my old cheap crappy skates. An entirely different skate, much lower to the ground due to the special design of the boot.

Alpha Flight was one of may favorite series! It was a John Byrne creation and was great under his creative control. After he left the series it underwent many changes and reincarnations that failed to live up to the original!

Third of alpha line starfighter, this time in white painting. This craft is more armored and more heavily armed than both previous models (scout and heavy). It is designed for long, interstellar travels, and can be used both to protect planets or cargo transporters, or to fight crime or pirates in the galaxy.
Three main engines powered by the energy crystal reactor gives this craft enormous speed, while two sets of smaller (mounted on wings) extend its maneuverability and allows flying in the atmosphere (though it's not really efficient).
The crew contains three people: pilot, mechanic and gunner-navigator. Inside the ship there is enough space to store equipment or weapons. There is also a secret compartment to store some contraband.
The model features opening door, and moving landing gear. The roof can be detached to give access to the interior.
