Trees abound reaching for the skies and the sun shines through a mist of gold that blankets the glistening mountain sides and floods the sleeping valley below. It is a place where the powers of nature is ever so gentle and the grandeur of god is ever present. This is Almost Heaven.

Saw lots of milkweed this weekend but most of it still not flowering. It's an amazing source for observing insects and it's the food of monarch butterflies.

If you zoom in you can see a few tiny insects. I believe they are wasps.

Almost all parts collected for a new bike, this time a singlespeed cyclocrosser.

Frame is an On-One Pompino, fork a carbon Kinesis PureCX. Wheels are 32h Velocity A23 (broader than broadway is good), Dia-Compe low-flange track hubs and DT competition spokes. Drivetrain is an old Veloce crank with 135mm BCD singlespeed 39T chainring courtesy of Velosolo, some BMX freewheel and PC870 chain. Compact handlebar and light seatpost from Planet-X, with gunmetal stem and headset from respectively Deda and M-Parts. Challenge Grifo clinchers with latex inner tubes for now.

We'll see how it hold against a wall aesthetically and through the fields performance-wise.
