I use a wee magnet and a bolt to make sure the boss stays aligned during torch work. Be careful not to braze the bolt into the boss!
Looking so absolutely damn perfect for a basic Hot Wheels proved too much to resist and so several of these recoloured 2015 Ford Mustang GT convertibles came home with me when this case first hit the U.K. back in the last month or so of 2016. Crisp, uncluttered with perfectly aligned tampo treatment it may well be the best modern Mustang model they've ever produced! Mint and boxed.
The National Museum of Australia was formally established by the National Museum of Australia Act 1980. The National Museum preserves and interprets Australia's social history, exploring the key issues, people and events that have shaped the nation.
The Museum did not have a permanent home until 11 March 2001, when a purpose-built museum building was officially opened in the national capital Canberra.
The Museum profiles 50,000 years of Indigenous heritage, settlement since 1788 and key events including Federation and the Sydney 2000 Olympics. The Museum holds the world's largest collection of Aboriginal bark paintings and stone tools, the heart of champion racehorse Phar Lap and the Holden prototype No. 1 car.
The Museum also develops and travels exhibitions on subjects ranging from bushrangers to surf lifesaving. The National Museum of Australia Press publishes a wide range of books, catalogues and journals. The Museum's Centre for Historical Research takes a cross-disciplinary approach to history, ensuring the museum is a lively forum for ideas and debate about Australia's past, present and future.
The Museum is located on Acton Peninsula in the suburb of Acton, next to the Australian National University.
As designed by architect Howard Raggatt (design architect and design director for the project), the museum building is based on a theme of knotted ropes, symbolically bringing together the stories of Australians. The architects stated: "We liked to think that the story of Australia was not one, but many tangled together. Not an authorized version but a puzzling confluence; not merely the resolution of difference but its wholehearted embrace."
The building is meant to be the centre of a knot, with trailing ropes or strips extending from the building. The most obvious of these extensions forms a large loop before becoming a walkway which extends past the neighbouring AIATSIS building ending in a large curl, as if a huge ribbon has haphazardly unrolled itself along the ground. Known as the "Uluru Axis" because it aligns with the central Australian natural landmark, the ribbon symbolically integrates the site with the Canberra city plan by Walter Burley Griffin and the spiritual heart of indigenous Australia.
The shape of the main entrance hall continues this theme: it is as though the otherwise rectangular building has been built encasing a complex knot which does not quite fit inside the building, and then the knot taken away. The entirely non-symmetrical complex is designed to not look like a museum, with startling colours and angles, unusual spaces and unpredictable projections and textures.

As night fell in New York, a rainstorm rolled in and started down pouring as I was finishing my city trek. There was one final photo I wanted to take before I left for the day. I had to cross the Manhattan Bridge to look for this small street in Brooklyn. After driving through a maze of roads, I decided I was close enough to this road to run there before my camera was ruined by the rain. I parked in the first spot I could find, and made an all out sprint to where my GPS was directing me, as I made my way down the street, I saw the Empire State Building begin to align with the massive bridge's arch. I ducked beneath a small overhang to get my camera prepped while avoiding the torrential rain. I knew I would have to act fast to capture this moment, and kept my fingers crossed that I wouldn't lose another camera the destructive water. I rushed to get my spot in the middle of the street and made sure that the composition for this photo was exactly how I imagined it. I leaned over my camera to block the rain as I made my exposures for the next few minutes, and succeeded in avoiding disaster while capturing this classic photograph.

Tapping Into Popularity
Tricks, Effects and Pieces
The Workshop
Psychological Artistry
You Can't Believe What You See
What Others Say
Hi,
We now have the dates for the Sleight of Mind Set workshops in 2013. The Sleight of Mind Set Workshops are one day workshops all about learning and applying Psychological Artistry and Mind Magic (Mentalism) ideas and techniques to what you do. See www.mindsways.com/SMS for more information.
We can learn valuable lessons from mind magic about how we think, act and behave. We can also use mind magic to illustrate human nature and our psychology. Adding psychological artistry to your delivery adds both the spice of excitement and taps into the enduring popularity of magic and psychology.
Tapping Into Popularity & The Personal Touch
If you look at the most popular "tags" in Amazon, you will see standing out the terms "magic", "mystery" and "paranormal". See www.mindsways.com/SMS for the image. In today's environment, we have to be able to be heard above the noise and stand out if we are attract people. By tapping into psychological artistry and mind magic, you are mining a rich resource that has popular appeal.
Over the past 18 months I have also noticed a trend, as the power of technology expands and we are surrounded by screens of all sorts, we value face to face interactions and the personal touch much more. What we focus on in the workshops, is combining using your head (smart thinking) and the personal touch. It is all about contributing to your reputation and adding value to what you do.
When you engage using mind magic and psychological artistry, you are tapping into;
People's passion, fascination and curiosity
Mystery and true difference
What makes novelty and newness appealing
Their crystallised knowledge and enhancing fluid knowledge
Cognitive fitness ideas by creating a workout for their brain
Tricks, Effects and Pieces
On the Sleight of Mind Set Workshop, we talk about the difference between tricks, effects and pieces. Briefly; a trick is a clever puzzle, it becomes an effect when it is presented and surrounded by story, meaning and/or emotion. It becomes a piece when the effect is woven into the very fabric of your personal brand and delivery. It then has the power to command attention, illustrates and communicates what you are about, allowing you to stand out.
The Sleight of Mind Set Workshop aims to give you a sound knowledge of the ideas, tools and techniques that form psychological artistry, but also quality material that you can add to your delivery (you get the SNT kit and the SMS package, see www.mindsways.com/SMS for more info). The day builds your own critical thinking skills, and provides new perspectives that allow you to step away from your own bias.
Innovation and creativity lies at the heart of Psychological Artistry and Mind Magic, so whether you are already actively engaged in using your creative skills or just looking to stimulate and nurture your creativity, you will find practical tools for releasing the spirit of innovation and creativity on the Sleight of Mind Set workshop.

Psychological Artistry
A couple of interesting examples of how all is not as it appears are the McGurk effect and Prof Richard Wiseman's "The Incredible Colour Changing Card Effect". Please take a look here or visit mindsways.com/SMS. I would love to know what you think. These illustrate both the power and the approach of psychological artistry.
You Can't Believe What You See, But You See What You Believe
It's easy to imagine that these illusions happen only on pieces of paper, on computer screens or during magic tricks. Easy, but wrong. They happen to you every day, in almost every activity you can think of. They're significant in all areas of our lives, affecting;
Our Identity (How you see yourself)
Our Aspirations (What you want to do in life)
Our Drives (Why you get out of bed in the morning)
Our Ambitions (Where you want to go)
Our Personality (Who you are)
And our very essence. Illusion will play a critical role in your life and in everyone else's. They determine how you act, behave and think. To learn more about illusions and how they are linked in your life, please go to mindsways.com/SMS/
To get your own SNT kit, please look here.

Fallen Leaf Lake is about one mile south of the much larger Lake Tahoe, near the California-Nevada state border. It is approximately aligned north-to-south and oval in shape, measuring approximately 2.9 miles (4.6 km) on the long axis and 0.9 miles (1.4 km) on the short axis. The lake was created by at least two glaciers which traveled northward down the Glen Alpine Valley. If the glacier had continued instead of stopping, Fallen Leaf Lake would be a bay similar to nearby Emerald Bay. A terminal moraine is visible at the north end of the lake on the northeast edge.
Fallen Leaf Lake is located within the National Forest System lands managed by the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, adjacent to El Dorado County. The land surrounding the lake is privately owned, leased from the U.S. Forest Service, and part of the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. Like some areas where the Forest Service has leased land intermingled with private land, the two land types appear in a mosaic or checkerboard pattern.
Fallen Leaf is approximately 415 feet (125 m) deep at its deepest point, which is east of the sheer face of Mount Tallac and north of Stanford Sierra Camp. The average depth of the lake is around 240 feet (72 m), and the bottom falls away rapidly as one moves away from the shorelines. Due to the action of the glaciers that carved the lake, the northern end of the lake has a much more gradual depth change, and the bottom can be seen from the surface for a quarter-mile (400 m) offshore. Along other shores, the bottom may be hidden in as little as 100 feet (30 m) offshore.
The water quality is extremely good due to the lack of commercial development (including golf courses and their fertilizer-rich runoff), the universal use of sewers, and modern sediment retention techniques associated with new development. Visibility runs around 40–50 feet (10–15 m) under most conditions. The water is potable, and many homes along the shoreline run a pipe offshore to provide water during the winter when other water systems may be turned off.

In an effort to align with the USAID Digital Strategy and recognize USAID Missions, Bureaus and partners that are empowering countries in a digital age, USAID launched the 2020 Digital Development Awards (the Digis), the third round of these awards. The Digis recognize and celebrate USAID-funded projects and activities that use digital technology to sustain open, secure, and inclusive digital ecosystems in order to improve measurable development and humanitarian-assistance outcomes. After receiving over 140 applications from USAID Missions around the world, five winners were selected for the 2020 Digital Development Awards, including USAID/RDMA: The Oceans and Fisheries Partnership (USAID Oceans).
USAID Oceans won for creating electronic Catch Documentation and Traceability (eCDT) technologies for data capture from point-of-catch to port entry, improving the sustainability of fisheries in ASEAN and Coral Triangle Member Countries and protecting the livelihoods of people who directly depend on marine ecosystems.
