This is the condition of the alien when he was discovered. Smiling to himself and doing some sort of isometric exerccises. He was covered in grime and dust in an effort to fit into his surroundings of unused construction material. Note the two hole on what would be his wrists. These may be so that he can hook into some sort of renewable energy source. Also note the 4 finger hands and extremely flat feet.
A composition I did for my demoreel, to create an alien creature in its environment.
The base model was done with Autodesk Maya, the sculpting with Mudbox, the texturing with Photoshop and ZBrush, the seams fixing with Bodypaint.
Lighting and rendering in Softimage|XSI and compositing in Photoshop.

With arms outstretched in a "How Ya Doing" stance, the alien ventures forth to explore his surroundings. He uncovers an expanse of dead roots and stumps, the remains of what was once a proud and stately tree. The tree was sacrificed for the good of the land-owner. One tree was able to heat the land-owner's home for a season as well as introduce numerous pollutents into the air. This was something that the alien enjoyed as it showed how simple it would be to take over this planet. It was obvious to our little visitor that Earthlings did not care enough to protect their own space.
