I've never seen eyes like this on a bug before. Or maybe the bug they were on was never big enough to see?
1. “Hi, I’m KINI and I’ll be your host. Buzz along…”
This alien poses as a damselfly of the Zygoptera suborder. People often fail to notice that they hold their wings differently when at rest and are also smaller than dragonflies. Oh, and did you notice, their eyes are separated. Though running might be better than waiting to see the blue in their eyes…

The Year started off in a rather detailed and controlled manner, I would construct acrylic paintings carefully in order to represent distorted news imagery (Imagery distorted through physical manipulation). The original idea with this was to emphasize that we are fed information through the news that forces us to see things from a certain perspective. But there is so much information that we do not see, due to it being censored.
This paintings shows three almost alien-like figures who appear to be operating war machinery, their featureless faces give them a lack of identity and so they are not being described as human. The hand is emphasized to show it’s operation of machinery, that is responsible for causing suffering in times of war. This also raises the awareness that humans are capable of ending a life in an instance, and in times of war, will not hesitate to do so.
The background further alienates the setting as there are no objects that would otherwise help to add a location to the painting. The figures are therefore suspended in an empty space, with nothing but a purple and yellow sky behind them, which could further the idea of the painting being set upon a different planet.
Alien Implants: A Closer Look Into One Aspect of Alien Abduction

The image shows a mirrored and etched version of a photograph of the Japanese musician Gackt; the original is in a 34 page photoshoot in Vol 72 of Shoxx 1999 and is in colour. I don't know if the copyright belongs to the magazine or to the photographer.
The words derive from the idea that aliens and angels are easily confused! Gackt also plays with these ideas (what is human? what is not human? Is human or not human better?) and I've imagined him as the small boy who was the only one to see the alien as an angel.
