The Regent’s Canal at Camden Lock – covered in algae. I guess it’s a result of a hot summer.

Algae? Plankton? I'm not sure.

Algae Madness.

A few days ago I revisited this incredible place that never ceases to amaze me!

This stone caught my attention powerfully due to its peculiar shape and the green algae that covered it.

I spent a good time there, testing compositions and moments until the trails of water created these beautiful textures.

I haven't been to the wildlife refuge in Alviso for quite some time. Today I went to check it out and was startled by the algae invasion at the trail head. It was fascinating to look at. So I decided to compose this panorama using some wildflowers as the foreground subjects.

This is another shot of the Cuckmere River. I'm not exactly sure why I took this photo, let alone upload it. I find the patterns created by the algae interesting, if not strangely beautiful. But its not the sort of phenonmenon that usually gets most people's attention.

Algae farm for the micro moonbase. Produces oxygen, maybe electricity. Maybe both -- hell, it's the future, they can do anything. They have the technology.

Nyammmm, lindo né? *____*

Strands of filamentous algae in a plastic container...

Enhanced images showing that the Glory returned algae close to the edge of a pond is centred on the camera not the cameraman. In this case the scattering is apparently done by more cylindrical fruiting bodies and the glory is not in complete circles. See the comment below for more detail and speculation.
