I went out the the Cow Palace at 5:30 this morning to try and see Gilbert off on his first Aids LifeCycle ride. It's 585 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It's a huge accomplishment and something he should be very proud of doing.
I never actually managed to find Gilbert in the crowd, but I did bump into someone I hadn't seen from high school. She said "how random," I said, "this kind of thing happens all the time."

With the start of training and fundraising posters have turned up at all the Muni stations encouraging people to register and join, but I don't like the posters headline.
Even by SF Bay Area standards, 7 days would be a terrible commute.
