When 2,500 cycling philanthropist bike 545 miles past the front door of Oprah Winfrey, will she open the door? - ynottony.com/ynot/oprah-winfrey/

I like that his Chrome bag matches his dress.

Team dinner the night before the start of AIDS/LifeCycle 11.

Lunch stop. I met these 2 cyclists in Santa Monica. They are fast and very nice. Although there friends they look like brothers.

Seventeen times, I have cycled 575 miles (from San Francisco to Los Angeles) in a bike ride event that began as California AIDS Ride and is now titled AIDS/Lifecycle . And seventeen times, I have completed the ride knowing I did the right thing. In June 2015, for my 18th Year, I will participate in AIDS/Lifecycle. | #aidslifecycle #bikes #cyclist #sf | ynottony.com/ynot/aidslifecycle/

Got up at the buttcrack of dawn that morning to prepare for the ride into Ventura. This was a special day because the Cannondale people who help sponsor the event decided to let me take out one of their highest end bikes for the entirity of the route. So while they drove their gear truck to Valencia with my bike in tow, I was racing along the coast on an all carbon Cannondale Synapse tricked out with the top of the line Shimano Dura-Ace Grupo, the lightest and highest quality componentry setup used by all of world's top riders. That day, my friend Marisa was also demoing Cannondale's steel frame counterpart, the Six13, so the two of us were just flying for those eighty miles. We rode together all day and had a blast. It was just too bad we had to return the bikes at day's end.

Each Year, the locals of Montecito - Santa Barbara gather and create their own "Paradise Pit Stop" for the approx. 2,000 Aidslifecycle Cyclist & 400 Volunteer Crew members. There you can find: chocolate bars, strawberries, homemade ice cream, corn dogs, Twinkies, coco cola, massages, and then some.. ... ALL YOU CAN EAT ...GRATIS!

Years ago (as I ate my strawberries and homemade ice cream), I asked several Montecito residents: "Where is Oprah?"

My outfit for Red Dress Day on the AIDS/Lifecycle 2013 ride. Looks like it would be far from comfortable on a bike, but it actually was....for 40 miles, no less!
