HSS- took about 20 shots.. the LBC doesn’t like the phone/camera but she sure does love me so she puts up with it..... playing in the portrait mode and with filters in post processing. wondering if I should “dust” her virtually?
The "Shooting Gallery" is officially open for 2016 and this scrub jay does not seem impressed! My shooting gallery (a Moose Peterson term) consists of a stool in our great room with my camera set on a tripod looking out one of our windows into our backyard (quite the conversation piece). I do shoot through the glass. Since this sits on the north side of our house, the light in winter is just not very good. But with spring just around the corner we are now getting late afternoon light on the deck and the birds are photo targets once again! Hooray for Spring!

I never tire of walks on the beach at sunset, they always give solitude, peace and times for thought. I almost feel weightless, so Weightless again by The Handsome family is perfect.
The rime ice is back today. Up close, it is really pretty. Just like little feathers hanging from my willow tree.
Sethi was not so very pleased when he woke from a nap and saw me and my camera. I was surprised to find him at home as the weather was quite nice (no rain for a change) and you'd think he'd take the opportunity to expand his collection of dead rodents.... Instead he decided to be lazy and check if his servants are still working as they should (see photo in the comments).
I'm sorry for being behind with commenting. For several days I have been without internet and when the service technician finally arrived yesterday, he decided that the router had to be replaced. He returned this morning with the new router and now we are connected with the rest of the world again.
During the year this very small cactus of mine looks like it´s going to die, but every year it "comes to life" and gives me one "big" flower. This year I thought mm......should my little one get through....and YES it did !!!

we received a (surprise) sunny, dewy morning last weekend. when i observe these “gatherings” of dew-covered grass, my heart sings. i’m reminded of all the good in our world. ordinary people doing extraordinary things. like these illuminated orbs of bokeh, we’re lights for each other. our words and actions matter. each day, each moment, is a chance to begin again
This wonderful jaguar was the first one we found in our last expedition to Pantanal. The situation there is very sad, the forests are burnt and the the drought lasts for 3 years. I hope that soon the monsoon starts and bring life back to Pantanal. Luckily, the site where the jaguars are didn't suffer so much from the fires and we were lucky to find female jaguars with cubs, which I'll be posting in the coming days.
Facts: The jaguar (Panthera onca) is a big cat, a feline in the Panthera genus, and is the only extant Panthera species native to the Americas. The jaguar is the third-largest feline species after the tiger and the lion, and the largest in the Americas. The jaguar is a near-threatened species and its numbers are declining. Threats include loss and fragmentation of habitat. While international trade in jaguars or their parts is prohibited, the cat is still frequently killed by humans, particularly in conflicts with ranchers and farmers in Brazil.

A few highways, backroads, fuel stops and a quick dinner and I “Home Again” After a long drive, a few phone calls there’s nothing like the feeling of being back home again. It’s April and the leaves from fall have taken up residence in my yard mostly. The color of the sky at sunset makes the drive a bit more bearable. Thanks for viewing my work. Last summer this Gerbera was purchased at the grocer. I kept it alive in my basement with light, barely hanging on I set it out this spring - this is the second bloom!!
