From last week on a day when weather, waves and good timing came together to give me an opportunity to shoot some really cool seascapes.
International House of Pancakes located at 391 Maine Mall Rd. in South Portland,ME. A car dealership operated by Car Max is currently occupying the site where the restaurant once stood.
Note this 102 seat IHOP opened for business on November 14th 1973 and operated until December 2005. Soon after the restaurant closed the A-Frame building was demolished leaving the site vacant until the latter half of 2017 when Car Max constructed their facility on the property.
Its worth noting the Cinema (3 Screens), Exxon Gas Station, and Pizza Hut were also demolished with the IHOP building in 2006.
I've always liked this dramatic A-frame in the neighborhood. Probably 1920s Craftsman era. It's got dormers on its dormers.

The crazy clouds were due to a hurricane just to the south of us in Mexico that day.
First thing I would do if this were my building is to remove that stupid brick wall in the lower left corner. Second thing would be to remove that ugly awning (which, in addition to being ugly, serves no real purpose for this building).

Stu had a gig at the Six Mile Creek Winery today here in Ithaca. I had a glass of their red Strawberry Wine. It was such a lovely colour and had a most unusual taste.

An increasingly rare still operational A-frame style IHOP restaurant. The restaurant has been remodeled inside and the wood siding is part of the newest IHOP look. I like how the new wood siding looks on this building. A standard IHOP restaurant is also nearby at Lima Road and I-69.

Leo is enthusiastic in all things. Agility included. This photo took about a billion attempts, and still isn't quite what I had in mind. But it's hilarious. lol. I don't know where his other leg is, and am pretty sure that this is the attempt where he nearly landed on my head.

I had seen a terrific shot of a dog coming over an A-Frame that I just loved and wanted to recreate it. I was only able to try this a couple of times and didn't get the sharp shot that I wanted, but in looking at the series...it really made me laugh. Bonny is normally a pretty quiet dog...until we get to the agility field when her "Bossy Aussie" nature takes over! She was wondering what the heck I was doing...but still did her two on; two off contact...what a good girl!

I saw this cabin approximately 23 years ago in the snow and it was such the cute little cabin in the woods, very secluded, with even an outhouse. I have never seen the inside of this cabin nor the owner or seen if anyone had lived or stayed in this one. I've taken a drive every few years through the Sequoia Forest and I swing by to see how she is doing. Still standing and I still admire it.
