I saw this cabin approximately 23 years ago in the snow and it was such the cute little cabin in the woods, very secluded, with even an outhouse. I have never seen the inside of this cabin nor the owner or seen if anyone had lived or stayed in this one. I've taken a drive every few years through the Sequoia Forest and I swing by to see how she is doing. Still standing and I still admire it.

The Pigot Bay Cabin is a small reservations-only public use cabin in Prince William Sound. It's perched on the edge of a small bluff overlooking the ocean and makes for an amazing hideout in any and all weather conditions.
The pedestrian trestle bridge makes a nice frame for one of the landmark buildings in downtown Roanoke at sunset. It's hard to believe that yesterday I was walking around downtown Roanoke in a short sleeved shirt and today the streets are covered in snow.
Troy and Jody's home in Carnation. Reminds me of the Garfield Sunday funnies a week ago where Jon is so estatic that he has just mowed the lawn for the last time until next summer when the wind suddenly blows leaves in his face and all over the yard. Garfield just hands Jon a rake and says, "Suk it up, Rake Boy."
california fan palm (washingtonia filifera) has a fatter trunk, whereas mexican fan palm (washingtonia robusta) has thinner and taller trunk, and they're everywhere in l.a. like weed.
This Whataburger building was severely damaged by a tornado on August 6, 2017 and was demolished on August 15, 2017. The restaurant was open and serving customers at the time that the tornado hit. The twenty-story building in the background, Remington Tower, was also seriously damaged. Unfit for occupancy, its future is uncertain now as structural engineers assess its condition.
The Whataburger building started out as a Burger Chef. When it was converted to Whataburger, the A-frame was added to give the building a signature Whataburger appearance.

UPDATE, April 23, 2019: KOTV news reported that site preparation has started for construction of the replacement Whataburger building. The report also stated that Whataburger has confirmed that the new building's construction has started. A projected opening date has not yet been announced.
2ND UPDATE: The replacement Whataburger opened on this site at 3:00 PM on July 29, 2019. At the time of opening, it became the largest Whataburger in Oklahoma.

Thought to have been built in 1969, replacing an old CRB hut that was previously sited here from 1923, but was burnt down in the 1939 fires.
This is the second hut built on this site, and is unsual for three aspects, firstly overnight campers are discouraged, despite its size, second it does not appear in the Butler report and third its unusual A-Frame construction.
A great refuge for those walking off the Feathertop spur in a blizzard.

Plans to construct a senior college to close the gap between the synodical junior college and the beginning of professional study in the theological seminary at Fort Wayne, Indiana were approved at the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synodical convention in Houston, Texas in 1953. The entire campus, consisting of a total of 25 college buildings plus faculty housing, was designed by Eero Saarinen with the landscape design by Dan Kiley and opened in 1957 as the Concordia Senior College. The tile mosaics in the Wyneken Hall were created by Siegfried Reinhardt. The Seminary is not on the National Register.
Two young boys find a creative use for a restaurant's A-frame sign at the Ballard Farmer's Market in seattle Washington.
Nestled in amongst its garden of deciduous trees and thick shrubs, this A-frame alpine style house is almost hidden from view. The choice of architecture is most appropriate considering that it is located in the lovely alpine township of Bright.
Bright, a town in north-east Victoria, is situated in the Ovens Valley and is part of the Alpine Region of Victoria. 210 kilometres from Melbourne, Bright was one of the towns in the Ovens Valley where gold was discovered. Gold was found near the junction of Morses Creek and the Ovens River in the 1850s. Established in 1862 and named Bright, most likely after John Bright (1811 - 1889) an English publicist, reformer and parliamentarian the township thrived. With the Gold Rush in full swing, Bright soon had Catholic, Wesleyan and Presbyterian churches, schools, three hotels, three quartz mills and two bank branches. As the yield of gold declined in the 1870s, so too did Bright’s population, yet by the 1880s, it became an alpine tourism town. The Bright Alpine club was formed in 1887 and a community library was started there in 1889. In the following year Bright was connected by railway to Myrtleford and Wangaratta, bringing with it much needed tourists from Melbourne. In 1910 a grand chalet was opened at Mount Buffalo and Bright ran a hire car service for visitors, who often stayed there overnight at a hotel or guesthouse. In 1919 a secondary school was opened in Bright. It also had a tourist progress association and local angling, bowling, racing, tennis and golf clubs amongst its many attractions. By the mid 1920s the people of Bright began planting exotic trees partly for landscape improvement and partly to lay the summer dust. The street tree plantings produced extraordinary autumn colours. By 1933, Bright was described as the “Tourism Capital of the Ovens Valley”. Bright’s train line continued until 1983 when it was finally discontinued and replaced with coaches. By that time, it was a well established tourism town with people flocking there all throughout the year for different reasons. Bright is a base for exploring the peaks of Mount Buffalo National Park and Alpine National Park as well as Mount Hotham, a popular ski resort. Bright is a starting point for the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, a hiking and cycling path. Bright Museum, in the town’s former train station, documents rail and gold rush history. The region is also known for wineries and of course its amazing display of autumnal foliage.
