This unique abandoned farmhouse has been on my watch list for a long time now. Every time it loses a bit of life,the chimney is a recent loss....

Low angled sun shining through these mason jars stuck to the top of some A-frame signs advertising food and drink.
Discovered this little house somewhere around 16 inches tall, and 16 inches long, 12 inches wide. A perfect Textural Tuesday capture.
There are many British Columbia forestry campgrounds and recreation sites that are mostly free. The majority of the locations are away from the highway, near rivers, lakes and trails. Usually, only locals know where to find them. Ashnola River is no exception, the campsites are primitive, with tables, fire ring and some sort of bathroom facilities. With so many free campsites in the area, this one on private land with a lack of maintenance hasn't been used for a long time. As the building is on private land, it could have been the office. In these campgrounds, private or public they all have access to the river.

The top of Steep Hill, Lincoln. The photo doesn't do justice to the gradient! I quite liked the high number of signs down the street. Everywhere one looks there is a sign!

16.1% gradient, which at one time was stepped, rather than cobbled. Has been in use since Roman times.
This one made for a nice black and white. A bridge that connects two parks has an "A" frame at each end to hold it up. At one end the sun was very low in the sky and clouds surrounded it leaving it silhouetted against the sky. All the color was gone so B&W was the result.

I spent several years living in the rain forest of Southeast Alaska. In this image you see a forest service cabin on Admiralty Island. There is a brown bear for every square mile on the island, for a population of about 1,600 bears. That is more than the whole lower 48 US states combined. While Doc and I had a few close encounters - no bear ever became aggressive.

This was a beautiful morning to be out on the lake. It was a bit chilly with a little fog. The reflections were perfect.
I enjoy posting photos of our area to share scenes from a way of life that many people will never be able to enjoy. A week ago I posted a photo of a sign inside this warming shelter. This is high in the Bear River Range at Horseshoe Basin. The area is popular with winter sports enthusiasts, especially snowmobilers, and is a long way from help. There are no supplies, medical assistance, cell service, etc. anywhere near here, so this is a refuge in a winter storm, or just a place to warm up after a nice ride in the snow. Notice the supply of firewood on the porch. There is also a supply of firewood in a shed nearby. There isn't much inside - a couple of tables with benches, a wood stove, and lots of hooks to hang wet clothes. The shelter, also known as a warming hut, is built on pilings so the door won't be buried by snow, and there is even an elevated outhouse in the trees.
When I drove by this abandoned house on Big Butter Creek Road in Eastern Oregon while returning to Portland after a 5-day road trip, the blazing hot July sun was almost directly overhead. Took this photo anyway, since I might never drive that desolate road again, and I liked how the tree framed the collapsing A-frame.
Didn’t see a single car on that 25-mile stretch of highway, so I rarely drove over 20mph, exploring and appreciating the high desert scenery. My kind of road!
As usual in this period it's time for a Christmas themed creation and this is a cozy shelter for Santa Claus and his reindeer. Speaking of the brand new reindeer it's really cute!
The house is a typical A-frame cabin, a kind of cottage I do really like.
This is probably my last MOC for this year and I wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! (hoping that it will be better than 2020)

The weeds are gone now, but so are the yellow roses. Next will be lilies and bachelor buttons and zinnias. (oh my)
p.s. Camille is under house arrest, because we spotted her yesterday hopping just behind a fledgling robin. I was on the phone with our vet about some test results, but I screamed, "Sally, Camille is chasing a bird!" and she managed to make enough commotion to startle Camille and she didn't get her chance to harm the robin. We're going to keep Camille inside for a few days, and give the baby birds time to get better at flying.
Day 272. Rusty rivets on a M&GN A-frame bridge crossing the River Wensum on the Marriotts Way footpath/bridleway/cycle route in Drayton.
As I browsed the internet for a motel on a recent road trip an image of this place popped-up on my screen. I don't know about you but I love retro motels and the triangle-shaped cabins, especially, sparked my interest. I thought: "even if I don't stay there I'm definitely going to photograph it.
When I arrived I found spacious clean rooms that had gone through a recent update. Great price, too. I got my room and my shot.
The A framed "Fairy House" is an interesting house on MacGregor Terrace, Bardon. Designed and built by a Russian immigrant Grigoriy Mikonoshin in 1951, the house includes multiple sculptures in its wall and facade.

I'm so happy and honored for this incredible goal, never in my life I would have thought to end up here. Everything is so special these days.
A lot of things have happened in the last few hours that have brought forward the announcement of the set, however here it is.
I wasn't ready but still managed to snap a picture quickly to thank everyone.
I can't wait to build the set in the next few days and enjoy it.
