JuneLake California is loaded with vacation rentals, from luxury condo or spa cabins, to small fishing cottages or rustic A-frames.

Amarillo, TX; I was told that these buildings (at least three that I know of in town) were originally Taylor Marts (combo gas & convenience store) but I haven't been able to find any proof on-line.

Our first Christmas in our A-Frame, I thought because the ceilings where so high that it'd be nice to get a big tree. It was the first & the last time we got a big tree. We had to put it in front of the front door & had to use the back door to get in & out of the house. Plus getting it in the house & in the tree stand was a pain.

no "new carpet smell", no off-gasing, no chemicals, even the pad is "unscented"

El Monte, CA; lots of other examples of this design at my website here:

The A-frame is the classic design for mountain cabins in areas that get heavy snow, but I've seen only a few of them around here. This one seems particularly attractive.

Dolce crossing over the top of the A Frame at Decker Creek. Not sure why he thought this was a good opportunity to lick his nose clean though.

Mammoth has fewer examples of classic 60s modern ski chalet architecture than when I last visited back in the early 90s (I suppose some would call that "progress"). But there are still some good examples - especially with the homes. Here's a nice example from my favorite ski shop there.

A few of the modern Swiss chalets which dominate the architecture of Alpine Village

working from home, a whole lotta Ikea!

And with this, my Tall Trestle Bridge design officially passes the "Milk Jug Test."

I didn't know we had an unopened gallon of milk in the fridge last night, otherwise I would have used it rather than my cathedral. But, I figured why not make it official as I did before.

I'd love to see the "Milk Jug Test" become official AFOL terminology. :)

An older set of small cabins on the "back side of the loop" JUNE LAKE LOOP (Highway 158). Last time I was out here the place was for sale by owner, kinda run down and not open to rentals. Not sure what the current status is on this property, but it sure was fun back in the day.

High Sierra - Great views of mountain peaks and aspen groves. Walk to fishing creeks, alpine lakes, hiking trailheads, and Carson Peak Inn (nice restaurant). The nearest alternate lodging is Whispering Pines or the newer Double Eagle Resort.

This building strikes me as Tiki themed. It would have made a great tiki restaurant. I think it may have started life as a surf shop or something. Today, it's essentially a thrift store.

UPDATE: Ed Kindle has provided some background. This building was build by Tarzan star Johnny Weissmuller for a animal themed tourist attraction called Florida Wonderland. I've also seen it listed as Tarzan's Jungleland and a few other names, online.

Not for sale. My JBI came with the 3pt options. I was lucky to find the original BH aframe to put on it. I found the BH pallet forks a year or so ago at a good friends business. These are the only BH forks any of us have seen. If you have a set, let me know please!
