Alright, so from what I can see, there is a lot of confusion behind Emma's character :P So I'm going to just straight-up tell you all a bit about her, so maybe you can understand her better :)
1.) Emma is a pythonist. Don't bother look it up, cause all it will say is "A conjurer; a diviner." I liked the original idea, but wanted to make her a bit more interesting, so I built off of that and created my own "supernatural species" :)
2.) Emma does not need to eat human food, though she can taste and enjoy it. What she does need to have to fuel her system (and this is going to sound a bit strange ^_^;) is actually sex. Yes, you read that right, sex. (if you know me well you saw that coming XD)
3.) Emma will never admit to loving someone, at least not easily. "Loving" is against what her species believe. Whether she actually feels love for anyone at the moment remains to be seen.
I hope that helps a bit :) Any more questions, please ask in a comment. Emma and/or I will be happy to answer them (Though there is not garentee Emma will admit to anything ;P)
A few photos from an epic 35 minute battle between these two equally sized male adders. I'd spotted the darker marked male courting a female earlier on and went off for a few hours to check other areas. I came back and found these two in full combat. It's usually a pretty short event with one male showing dominance and the other shooting off defeated, so I had to decide, photos or video. I took several photos and realised neither was backing down so managed several short videos, then more photos. It was such a treat watching them for such a long time, the sun was behind me, they were on one high heather bank and I was on one opposite. I ended up just sitting down and watching them. They finally tired themselves out and went in search of the female they were fighting over, who I'd seen some minutes earlier, disappearing into a pile of rocks. To say I went home happy would be an understatement!

Several plants, including a red maple, have colonized this boulder surrounded by the water of a New Hampshire pond, perhaps 50 feet from the shore. I'm afraid their future is not rosy, but I will come back next year to see how they are doing.

In several places in the Azores, I encountered feral domestic chickens. On the Island of Terceira, this young hen in the nature park on Mount Brasil didn’t seem to have a fear of humans. She came right up to me unlike many of the other chickens in the park.. The were lots of chickens and some Guinea fowl on Monte Brasil.
Don't drop me, I bruise easy. Oh, and have I mentioned, I'm afraid of heights?

I'm afraid the heat has kept me away from Sussex Prairies for the last few days, but the temperature finally dropped today, to my huge relief, so I'm sure I'll be back there very soon. I love colour and the garden is a feast for the eyes at this time of year. :)
Viareggio, Tuscany, Italy
The Carnival of Viareggio is a carnival event yearly held in the Tuscan city of Viareggio, in Italy. It is considered amongst the most renowned carnival celebrations in Italy. The parade of floats and masks gives its main characteristic, usually made of paper pulp, depicting caricatures of famous people, such as politicians, showmen and sportsmen; the parade is held on the Viareggio avenue located alongside the local beach. The first Viareggio carnival parade was born in 1873, when some wealthy middle-class men decided to organize a parade of floats adorned with flowers and part of them, as a sign of protest, then decided to put on masks in order to show their refusal of high taxes they were forced to pay. The official mascot of the Viareggio carnival is Burlamacco and it was first depicted in 1931.

I'm afraid of heights. It's a lot better now than it used to be, but still. To be able to get a shot like this, I need a lot of time to get used to the view - look into the abyss for a few minutes, take a step closer, repeat. There can not be people near me, I simply don't trust them. Not that I think that they want to push me, although the thought may cross their minds, I just know that people are clumsy. They lose their balance, bump into me, and that's it. People do die here, mostly the clumsy ones. The most recent casualty was standing near the edge and dropped her sunglasses - in an effort to catch them she lost her balance and fell down. Just so you know that this is sort of heroic for me.
But where is it? It's Victoria Falls, shot from The Zimbabwe side. Zambia is on the other side.
This is actually a selfie. I set the exposure and focus and then took my time to move to the death spot. I then asked Daniella to trip the shutter, so I guess officially it's not a selfie. Anyway, it was shot on our Beyond The Great Rivers tour, just after sunrise.

Read the Bible for yourself. Allow the Lord to speak to you through his Word. YOUR ETERNITY IS AT STAKE!
