Now three months shy of her 12th birthday.
In the serene embrace of Raven Hollow, nestled amidst the majestic grandeur of the Rocky Mountains, registered Campion mare #0050, Aetheriel Moonmaiden, affectionately known by her caretakers as Selûne, found herself embarking on a new chapter of her journey. Having already been gently introduced to the nuances of human interaction and the rudiments of saddle training by her former caretaker, Selûne's transition into her new abode was marked by a seamless fusion of familiarity and novelty.
Amidst the tranquil ambiance of Raven Hollow, where the Ravens croaked of ancient secrets and the gentle rustle of leaves provided a soothing backdrop, Selûne gracefully integrated herself into the tapestry of equine companionship. Here, amidst the company of kindred spirits, she found solace and camaraderie, her past experiences serving as a solid foundation upon which to build new bonds.
As she roamed the verdant meadows alongside her newfound companions, Selûne reveled in the sense of belonging that enveloped her. Each hoofbeat resonated with a quiet sense of purpose, each glance exchanged with her fellow equines spoke volumes of shared experiences and unspoken understanding.
Despite the challenges she had faced in the past, the arduous trials of herd roundup and the uncertainties of change, Selûne embraced her newfound sanctuary with a quiet resilience. Here, amidst the tranquil beauty of Raven Hollow, she found not just a refuge, but a place to call home—a sanctuary where she could rest her weary soul and bask in the warmth of newfound companionship.
And so, as the sun peaked out above the mountains, casting a revitalizing golden hue upon the landscape, Selûne set off amidst the rolling hills of the large grassy turnout, her heart filled with excitement for the beautiful shared space she now found herself in. In the welcoming embrace of Raven Hollow, surrounded by nature and the comforting presence of her fellow equines, she knew that she had found her place in the world—a place where she could thrive, grow, and find solace still in the familiar beauty of the natural world.

Super hot day and I can't be in the sun, so not much of the march got photographed. This isn't a 'candid' shot, although I follow an English street photographer, I don't do it. They were being affectionate, so I waited a moment till they took a break and asked if I could photo her tee shirt. I loved the way she's holding her partner steady for the shot.

All my animals are very affectionate but Squirty just goes beyond affectionate. He is the most 'in ya face' kinda cat i have ever owned and I mean that literally.
As a small kitten he was obsessed with my face and still is, he is getting better but at about 4am every morning he will lay on my face, around my neck, put his nose on my mouth anything to be really, really close to me.
If he get's tired and I am home in the middle of the day he will find me and paw at my face and give me head rubs until he is just too tired to stay awake any longer.
He is so darn cute and loveable. I have to say his affection has helped the hurt of losing Beaker.

I loved the indulgent, affectionate looks of these two grandmothers in traditional attire as they watched their grandchildren inside a yurt, Almaty, Kazakhstan. This is an unposed image taken in the natural light coming from the open doorway to the yurt and converted to black and white.

It's good to know the loco is in the safe hands of A1A locomotive services and is currently being fully restored.
The station signal box here has served its term. Amazingly there were a further 4 boxes within less than a mile of the station!

Irish Doodles are a hybrid dog breed that was created by mixing a breed with a breed. Irish Doodles inherit a mix of genes from each of their parents that give them their unique and fun personality. Affectionately known as Paddy's Wigwam the Metropolitan Cathedral is one of the most iconic buildings in Liverpool. I still can't decide whether the exterior is as good as the interior. Either way: it is stunning. Hopefully, I can do it some justice. An amazing place.

I found this 10” in diameter shelf mushroom on a dead cottonwood. It is the first time I’ve attempted to use an artist conk mushroom as a drawing/etching surface.

In German known affectionately and simply as "Michel", the first Hauptkirche Sankt Michaelis (literally Head Church St. Michael) at this site was built between the late 1640s and 1660s. In 1750, that church was burnt down after a lightning strike. Construction of the second St. Michael's in the baroque style began within the same year and took 12 years. A wood tower addition was completed in 1786. In 1906, an accidental fire again completely destroyed this second St. Michael's.
Between 1906 and 1912, construction of the third St. Michael’s church took place. The old plans were used, this time utilising steel and concrete inside the remaining walls. Only the baptism font and offering box remained from 1763. This current St, Michael's suffered heavy damages during World War II, but was fully restored between 1947 and 1952.
Hauptkirche St. Michaelis is a purpose-built Protestant church, unlike many centuries-old European churches that were built and decorated as Roman Catholic but converted to Protestant during Reformation. It is considered one of the finest Hanseatic Protestant baroque churches. The spire tower is 132 m (433 feet) high and the viewing platform is open to the public (admission fee applies).

Siamese cats are known to be affectionate, friendly, loyal and bold.
