Monticello Dam, Lake Berryessa. Affectionately known as "The Glory Hole". It gives you creeps to look at it sucking in the surrounding waters. It would be a 200+ foot drop to the massive horizontal pipe that is the outflow. We skated that big pipe in the 80's.

The "Tub," as it's affectionately know, dies in winter - streets are deserted, most of the shops are closed, and seasonal residents depart. The sole gas station is only open on a part time basis. It comes alive, however, when the weather warms and the Chi-Cheemaun resumes it's summer run to Manitoulin Island. It's a place of summer homes, cottages, and boats - lot's of boats - even model boats. It's one of my favorite places to go.

Affectionately know locally as 'Paddy's Wigwam' is Liverpool's Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral ; one of city's two cathedrals, the other being the gothic Anglican one.

This vehicle is affectionately know as "Teddy" after non-other than President Teddy Roosevelt, who the original owner admired. This car was manufactured in Canada and the original owner lived across the border in Minnesota.

This picture here was taken at the present owners estate, Stone Haven, a home build in the 1800's and restored and now part of the National Register of Historic Places. Another story in itself.

The present owner was told about the car from a friend who knew the original owner and the car was sold knowing that it was going to see a new life.

There was a team of "Hooligans", as they are affectionately called, who over the past 8 years have assembled and reassembled Teddy several times. Modifications, improvements, and innovations seem to evolve over time. The project was really a labor of love that has brought a group together that will be friends forever.

I feel privileged in just a small way to be taken in by this group and to photograph this marvel of a car. Bonds are formed in different ways and Teddy has been a bond that has brought an amazing group of people together. More pictures to follow.

What a pleasure to see (lust at) my figure in the mirror. The feminine illusion I create is unlike anything I know of. It is the source of great pleasures...

Halooween 2023

Looking at this picture, I can tell I take so much joy dressing as a woman. I can't say I don't like it? That would be lieing to myself. (I've been know to lie to myself in the past, many times, in fact). Sometimes, I convince myself I am destined to become a woman? You see? It's only a fantasy, I know. I can't allow myself to live like a woman? But I confess I can't find the moral strength to leave the safe harbor of my marriage. Some silly voice in me believes I can have the best of "both worlds"?: to be a crossdresser and have a crossdessing life at the same time as to live in my marriage with the lovely woman I affectionately call my wife. To me, Jacqueline, living this experience, is profoundly disturbing. Still, no dysphoria in sight other than, perhaps, a "marriage dysphoria". Stay tune for the next episode of Jacqueline's "world of feminity".

EXPLORE. November 25, 2008.

Have you said, "I love you", to your Mother, lately? Or your children? Your husband? Your Father? ... Your precious someone?

:)

That precious moment is right here, right now... Don't you think?

(Behind-the-scene: A bubble-blowing afternoon with little Cara. We were at the backyard, of course. Wasn't too chilly that's why I was brave enough to bring her out.:P Lotte's pink camellias are in full bloom. And what happens when we Flickrites see colours? :P So I saw this. Hovered above and took some pictures then went below and behind it like I did with this Gumamela. Saw the yellowed leaf, and yes, the green. It looked very affectionate how they appeared through my lens. Adjusted my EV, selective-focused on the flower, and leveled the screen. With the pink bloom set - "Snap!")

This couple sat together, holding hands, gazing into each other’s eyes for what felt like an eternity (at least for the 20 minutes I was there).

We found this affectionate family hanging about 6 metres high on the ceiling outside our hotel room in Wonosobo, Central Java. The temperature could drop very low in the morning and It was amazing to see how the mother keeps the babies warm and comfortable.

As the sun began to rise, this mated Great Blue Heron pair began an elaborate "dance". Each heron took turns puffing out their feathers, stretching their necks high and low, and spreading their wings. This intimate interaction was incredible to witness.

They say a good funeral is better than a bad wedding, and this was certainly the case with the celebration of the life of my long-time friend Bob Wingrove. Bob was one of life's eccentrics - and I mean that in a very complimentary, affectionate way - and it was no surprise that his funeral was well-attended by his friends from the Museum of Transport Greater Manchester, the Epping & Ongar Railway and his employer BT. Bob, you were a lovely fellow and we'll miss you.

Bob's hearse was this lovely ex-London Country AEC Swift - the coffin travelled on the luggage shelf just over the offside front wheel, which Bob would have found hilarious.

The Macabre Banquet is one of my personal favorites, but then again an artist should only send releases he/she affectionates in their particular and personal value, along with what sentiment or another should it generate.. Although! ..I was so damn pleased to see the STORM of reactions to what really was only a sight that made my body become a furnace, to begin with. Thank you for all your appreciation; awesome feedback to passionate art enriches a single piece with a lot of that ''particular and personal value''.. personal thanks to Christiana for looking just like a feast. Love you, my blood.**

Known affectionately as the "longest bar in the world," the Düsseldorf Altstadt is a square kilometer of vibrant history and social energy. Within its narrow, cobblestoned streets, you’ll find over 250 pubs, restaurants, and breweries, many of which serve the city's signature Altbier - a dark, top-fermented lager. The atmosphere is a unique blend of Rhenish conviviality and architectural charm, where centuries-old buildings house lively crowds that spill out onto the pavement, regardless of the season.

Beyond the nightlife, the Altstadt serves as the cultural soul of the city. It is home to landmarks like the Schlossturm (Palace Tower) on the Burgplatz and the twisted spire of the St. Lambertus Basilica. Just a few steps away from the bustling bars, the district opens up to the Rhine Embankment Promenade, offering one of Germany’s most scenic riverfront walks. Whether you’re visiting for a quiet afternoon of museum-hopping or a high-energy night out, the Altstadt perfectly captures Düsseldorf's "work hard, play hard" spirit.

Sandro Botticelli (Alessandro di Mariano by Vanni Filipepi) (1445-1510) - Lamentation over the dead Christ (post 1495 - before 1500) tempera on panel dimensions: height 106 cm; width 71 cm - Poldi Pezzoli Museum - Milan

Against the background of the tomb of Christ open, Mary holds her dead son on her legs and faints with pain, supported by John the Evangelist who holds her head and arm; the three Marys echo her: one holds the face of Christ and leans a shroud on it, one covers her face for tears and finally Mary Magdalene affectionately holds her feet to her face. Above, Giuseppe d'Arimatea raises the crown of thorns and the nails of the crucifixion to heaven, wrapped in transparent veils.

Affectionately called “Columbus Eclectic,” the combined architectural elements of Greek Revival, Gothic and Italianate come together to form a most welcoming style. Beautiful woodwork, mirrored glass doorknobs, a three story cupola and even original bedroom closets add to its allure. Mr. & Mrs. Dick Leike / National Register

Standing at 90 feet (27 meters), Henrhyd Falls is the tallest waterfall in South Wales and is affectionately known as the Batcave due to its appearance in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. As a well-loved destination, it can be challenging to capture truly unique photos here. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of this intriguing spot.

Sometimes called a Bull-Pug, the Miniature Bulldog is a cross between an English Bulldog and a Pug, Puggle, or French Bulldog to create a smaller size bulldog that will be perfect for your family. English Bulldogs were bred to bait, guard, and control bulls while Pugs have been companions to royals since about 1600 BC. The combination naturally features the best qualities of the two, creating a small, affectionate pup who gets along well with people and doesn't require a large time commitment. They are peaceful and get along well with animals and people.

A lively mix of two of England's storied working Terriers, the Jack Russell and the Yorkshire, the Yorkie Russell is a small, energetic dog with a big personality. They are sweet, affectionate dogs with a playful attitude and are constantly seeking attention from their owners. Even maxing out at only 15 inches tall, these pint-sized pooches have no reservations when it comes to exploration, as their Terrier-bred nature means they are often brave and inquisitive, which can also get them into trouble.

We have affectionately named this moose, "Bruce the Moose." He has visited our yard for four years in a row now, the first two with his mother. We are not sure where he goes when he is gone, but he will come back on occasion and is very comfortable with my wife and I. (not so much with our dog) While taking his photos, he will walk towards us, ears forward, not pinned back. We refuse to try and touch him or feed him because we do not want him to associate humans as kind individuals.

He does me a favor by eating the young willows, if he only knew that I would pay him for his services!

We both hope Bruce will visit us for many years. However, moose are hunted each fall and the chances of a moose this close to houses makes his chances of living a long life very low. I hope he beats the odds.

This looked like a family hanging out together. Observing the wild mustangs was such an amazing event, I appreciate them much more now. I hope they can continue to live and be free out in the wild west. (they have been through a lot, check out all the marks and scars on their bodies and legs)

My small dog Millie.

The name “Shih Tzu” means little lion, but there's nothing fierce about this dog breed. This pooch is a lover, not a hunter. Bred solely to be companions, Shih Tzus are affectionate, happy, outgoing house dogs who love nothing more than to follow their people from room to room.

Shih Tzu are classified in the toy group in most countries, with a height of eight to 11 inches and weight of nine to 16 pounds (four to seven kilograms).

As with most toy breeds, shih tzu are quick to mature, reaching adult size by about 10 months.

The shih tzu is often slightly longer than tall, with a sturdy body and a good-sized head. The muzzle is quite short, with an undershot bite. The head is rounded and the eyes are quite prominent. The tail is carried gaily curled up over the back. The gait is long and swift for such a small dog.

The shih tzu is covered with luxuriant, long, straight hair. This double coat does require a fair amount of upkeep, especially if left long on these short dogs so that it sweeps the ground. Any color is acceptable for the coat, but dark pigment is preferred around the eyes and on the nose. Shih tzu tend to be fairly hardy little dogs and often live to 14 or 15 years of age.

Personality:

Shih tzu are renowned for their perky, happy temperaments. They are lively and friendly. Shih tzu tend to get along well with people of all ages and with other dogs as well as other pets of different species. Rarely you will find a snippy shih tzu, but most are very sweet.

With their short muzzles, shih tzu are not big chewers, but they do enjoy digging and some indulge in nuisance barking. They have a big desire to be with people, whether that is sitting on your lap or taking a hike through the park.

Living With:

Shih Tzu are very easy to keep and quickly become obese if given too many treats. They do not need or want a mile hike every day, but they do enjoy walks and should be kept fit. Shih tzu do compete in obedience and agility with some success. Beware of exercising a shih tzu in hot, humid weather with the short muzzle, the breed is prone to heat stroke.

Hair is a four-letter word when it comes to the shih tzu. Most pet owners resort to a short year-round body clip, which looks quite nice and is very easy to care for. If you wish to keep the long flowing coat, you must be prepared for some serious grooming time. These dogs require weekly baths with oiling of the coat to help keep matting down and daily grooming to keep any foreign objects from catching in the coat. Dogs with the correct texture of coat do not mat nearly as much as those with a soft coat.

The shih tzu tends to require a large amount of personal attention each day. They thrive on human company and can easily become spoiled. They enjoy training and learning tricks, making them the center of attention. Shih tzu should be socialized to children early on, but they enjoy people of all ages. Do not count on your shih tzu to guard the house; he would probably welcome a burglar with open paws.

History:

The shih tzu originated in Tibet, probably back around the 7th century, and they may have simply been the smallest of the Lhasa Apsos there. Given as gifts to the Chinese emperors, the breed developed into the dog we recognize today. Fanciers speculate about crosses with Pekingese to shorten the face as well as selection for the smaller Lhasa-type dogs. The name shih tzu means "lion dog" in Chinese, which further confuses the ancestry because lion dog usually denotes the Pekingese.

The Chinese royalty kept and bred shih tzu and, when the British arrived, the breed made its way to England and then on to the United States. Unfortunately, the Communist takeover in China wiped out most of the native stock.

No one disputes that these charming little dogs were intended as companion dogs. Their primary function right from the start appears to be acting as delightful company.

Affectionately known as 'Billy' at the ELR, 4002 is one of a pair of Hudswell Diesel-Electrics which were used by the Manchester Ship Canal Company as part of their extensive fleet operating around Trafford Park.

The pair were numbered 4001/2 at the MSC. Sister loco 4001 also survived for many years as a static non-operational exhibit at the Winfields Store site at Acre Village (between Haslingden and Accrington) however the loco was cut up in 2018 as it was in a poor state. 4001 has donated many parts to allow 4002 to live on as a working example. The Puginese is a mixed breed dog a cross between the Pug and Pekingese dog breeds. Affectionate, sensitive, and independent, these pups inherited some of the best traits from both of their parents. Puginese dogs go by a few different names, including Pekeapug and Pugapeke.
