Photos from the 2014 Haight St. Music and Merchants Street Festival.

I was more interested in textures, expressions, and atmosphere than in documenting the event in any sort of narrative way. For many of these photos, I dialed in settings to my camera, chose a distance to focus, and shot from the hip, shoulder, above my head, etc without looking through the viewfinder or knowing in advance what the camera might capture. If you find yourself in one and would like to contact me, email robin [AT] redbirdgreybird.com.

Today I did commissioned work for a symposium here at the University of Twente! I've had my share of fun there and am quite happy about the results! After the symposium, I took a detour because I saw the cows at uni with some calves! And since Sanne always loves baby animals I just had to shoot him/her. (Disclaimer: no animals were distressed, harmed or murdered during this shoot, they didn't bother at all with my presence and some even came to greet me... Funny animals)

The saying ''fancy a spoon?'' inspired these rings and bracelet. I was given a briefing 'what qualities are attractive in the opposite sex' Instead of creating promiscuous pieces i wanted to focus on personality traits such as humour and affection. I like Design that can create a talking point but also not taken too seriously. I have recently made lots more of these and sell them locally. I enjoyed making these so much and gave me a huge love affair with machinery.

There is no love stronger than fatherly and motherly affection, make sure that you show it back by doing little things to make them happy. It makes you feel good as well :)

Harriet is very affection-seeking with me, but only when Dave's not around. Today, she wanted to join me while surfing the internet, so I took a picture to prove to my husband that I'm not lying about Harriet's affectionate nature behind his back.

Thank goodness for neighbors who love flowers!(; I never noticed last year that my next door neighbor has a yard full of gorgeous flowers! Of course, most are in the backyard so I only took pictures of the ones in the front yard.(:
