Thanks for your kind comments, faves and invites !

Please , no multiple-invites by a single person, with 20 to 30 admin-invites in sequence....

October 30th 2010, 11 years ago today, Lovers of Landscapes began, and I'm so happy our group is still going strong.

I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to my Partner Admin, Tony / Guy@Fawkes for all the years together and those to come - thank you ! The idea for this, our first group together, was conceived while we walked by a canal, so here's another canal photo - this one is the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal, which I took from the Tyburn Bridge on a nice day in October.

Edited in Topaz Studio, Picasa and PicMonkey

This group is made up of YOU, our loyal members, so please accept our heartfelt thanks - for Lovers of Landscapes would not exist were it not for you and all your wonderful support.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH !

These flowers are a big part of the gardens features this time of year but admin of Images of the National Trust rejected it .

I first followed the tutorial of PIXIMPERFECT www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFxylWAAFSM

For the double exposure technique and used his picture material.

I learned I was the clumsiest human on earth and I kept deleting or modifying things without saving my progress and having to redo some steps repeatedly. The pleasing thing is by doing repetition, you actually memorize everything better. I also learn that the TAB button places everything full screen in photoshop and hides all your panels and because somehow I didn't know I panic a bit.

I typically work by intuition and handle everything until I get a result, this is why following a tutorial in stages was more painful lol. But was able to complete the task and was quite proud of the result.

I enjoy the project, but the result was at the end almost a copy conform from the tutorial, and I wanted to deconstruct it and produce something distinctive. Here is the result, a special Admin award for my Flickr group.

I took this on our way back to our hut/cabin from the Mavora Lakes (see previous photo). The evening light was wonderful.

I am busy catching up around the house at the moment (as well as doing my admin duties) so I will try and get to your photostreams as soon as I can :-)

There is a hole in the ground where the BYU administration building once stood. But this is not goodbye to admin. A new building will be constructed on the same spot.

Admin pick of the week in Best of **with sky** on 13 April 2009

He couldn't remember. Not his name, not his family, not even his birth date or why he was so angry. No country of origin, no phone numbers, no friends or pets or past loves. All he got were error messages, like so many little blinking caution lights that lit up his brain.

Administrative assistant with briefcase traveling for her job with clocks from different time zones. I like this photo. Start your career here administrativejobsplus.com/ with the biggest job search engine.

Now this admin is hard at work on her pc looking for a job here administrativejobsplus.com/ I bet she'll find some good administrative assistant jobs there. They have the biggest list, I'm told.

Happy girl in front of her pc just found an administrative assistant job from this web site administrativejobsplus.com/ It's got jobs all over the country sorted by area code for other jobs too.

I simply wanted to thank all the Flickr Admins out there for all of their time and energy, so that we might post our images and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Many are my friends, many I have never met but have appreciated their services. All volunteer their time, and many spend several hours a day making sure things run well for the groups they have volunteered to help keep alive and well. My hat is off to you. A big hug and thanks to you ALL!

The images in this photostream are the work of a group of different photographers not a single person. They have no admin access to the site therefore they are unable to respond to comments or requests. Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks Dear Dorota for all the work

This old abandoned boys school had some real charm and great woodwork

For me this single image sums up not only the location but UrBex itself. The contrast between beauty and elegance of an age past with decay and abandonment of the present.

Brayford Pool in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.

Brayford Pool is a natural lake formed from a widening of the River Witham in the centre of the city of Lincoln. It was used as a port by the Romans who connected it to the River Trent by constructing the Foss Dyke Canal and the area has a long industrial heritage.

The Pool has been the focus of Lincoln's urban regeneration since the early 1990s. It is now overlooked by bars, restaurants, a cinema and, most significantly, the University of Lincoln. The only reminder of the past is the Royal William public house, a traditional pub housed inside a listed building. The Pool is used as a marina by houseboats and pleasure craft, as well as by anglers and kayakers.

It has long been a favourite place for mute swans. Mute swans are one of the UK's largest birds and they can grow up to about 1.5m high. Although the mute swans are usually silent, they do make a loud hissing noise when they are angry and young swans make a high-pitched whistling noise.

They breed upstream on the River Witham, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but are attracted down to the Brayford Pool area by food provided by passers-by. The number of swans usually peaks in the autumn and can be anything up to 130 birds. In recent years the swans have moved out of the city along the River Witham.

Mallard ducks, Coots and Moor Hens can be found in the area as well as the less commonly known Muscovy ducks, native to Central and South America but brought to Europe by explorers in the 16th Century. The strange looking ducks have been immortalized to a degree with a ground floor suite named after them in the University’s Main Admin Building.

Other birds seen around the Brayford include the pied wagtail, kingfishers, mallards, moorhens, coots, and herons. There are at least five different types of dragonfly, whilst the fish in the Brayford include roach, common bream, tench and pike.

Plants that can be found along River Witham include common species such as reed sweet grass, branched bur-reed and red mace, the much rarer arrowhead and flowering rush along with great water dock, skull cap and wild celery. A common tree along the riverbank is the Alder.
