Next Stops - August 11, 2015.

We finally reached California's border after midnight, checked in our reserved overnight accommodation (Eureka - Motel 6) at around 2 am, August 11, 2015.

We must had few stops that we anticipated, and stayed a little longer between our drive from Seaside, Oregon to Eureka, CA, that we ended up paying the price for it.

Driving in Oregon Coast at night taking US 101 Highway is NOT RECOMMENDED! The view must have been beautiful between Florence, Eugene, Oregon to Eureka, California, but AVOID driving in the night at all cost!

My husband is the best driver that I know, great driver instructor to me and my youngest daughter. But even great driver has it's worst driving moments, this one is!

A 9hrs drive became like a 12.5hrs drive, from Seaside, OR to Eureka, CA. He called it, "The Hellish Drive"! The road is foggy, winding, narrow, one lane, and bright lights had to be used at all time, from Florence, OR to Eureka, CA.

I was on the edge of my seat at all times in last 4hrs. Tried not to blink even Albert was driving until we reached our overnight accommodation at around 2am. The GPS and the music was on, and all passengers are very supportive with our designated driver.

We just had a few hours nap, gassed up, had lunch at nearby mall in Eureka and start heading to Milpitas, CA (Silicon Valley), for our 4 nights accommodation (Hilton - Embassy Suites).

This photo was taken in mountainrange Apennines, in Levanto. It was raining when I made this photo. The prognosis was sunshine a t-storm in spots. Taken on Friday, June 19, 2009 7:43:39 PM and context-tagged with IYOUIT.

Luxurious Parisian apartment with four separate bedrooms – total living area is 140 square meters - the 6th district - rue de Rennes. The flat has surprisingly beautiful interior, high windows & ceilings and is located on the 6th floor of the house with elevator. The apartment offers wonderful old furniture which takes residents to a few centuries into the past. In addition, the flat has modern high-quality home and kitchen appliances.

Restoration Reef accommodation Niue

Apartment accommodation for more than 8,000 students is planned or under way in the D1, D2 and D7 areas of Dublin inner city with more than half of those within 500 metres of the new Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) campus at Grangegorman.

Local residents are becoming a bit concerned because when all planned projects have been completed students will make up at least sixty percent of the population of the area by 2020.

As demonstrated by the Queens Quarter in Belfast an large annual influx of students can change the character of an area in a negative way. A student population is transient and requires different services to longtime residents and this leads to a concentration of overpriced convenience stores, pubs, cheap restaurants and take-a-ways. At the same time the services that long term residents depend upon are inclined to diminish over time.

Having visited the Queens Quarter in Belfast I would be concerned if we ended up with the same environment here in Dublin North inner city but I do not think that this is likely to happen for a variety of reasons that I will not discuss here.

Peacefully secluded in a lush tropical garden paradise, guests in the Superior Sea View Rooms can relax and enjoy a gorgeous view of the Mui Ne coastline and enjoy an atmosphere of tropical tranquility.

We were staying at Suneta Hostel, but actually the style of accommodation (hostels, guest houses, hotels) is very similar; Traditional, dark wood (teak), polished, beautiful and really makes you feel like you step back in time.

These photos gives an impression of the room.

Gaza Barracks near Tonbridge was one of many barracks constructed in 1938 as the threat of war was imminent. As was often the case, Royal Engineers constructed the infrastructure, with a local contractor completing the erection of buildings; a cheap and quick timber clad frame with corrugated asbestos sheet roof, typical of the era. With large workshops and accommodation for up to 10 Officers and nearly 200 other ranks, the barracks was home to transport units, latterly accommodating personnel from search light batteries stations locally. After the war, the War Department retained the barracks as a depot for equipment due to be disposed of following the war. It was sold in 1960 and has remained in private hands since.

The original buildings remain in apparently great condition. Some have been demolished through mixture of poor condition and Council insistence (the owners can only build a new building if they demolish an old one).

The site does remain in private hands and there are tenant business occupying most of the units. This was a permission visit and tour with the owner, who appears happy to show people with a legitimate interest around this unique site.
