Porto, Palácio da Bolsa (stock exchange), main hall [Nikkor-Fisheye AI 16mm f/2.8, panorama merging]
Actually the Electra Building in downtown Vanvouver. Originally constructed in 1957 as the BC Electric Building. The building was then converted to residential units in the mid 1990's. There are two distinct "fins" that have triangular panels that run from the top 21st floor to the ground floor. The triangular panels are illuminated at night in alternating pairs of blue and green colours.
This is an in-camera two-image multiple exposure of a covered carpark roof at Bristol Temple Meads railway station. One of the images is with the camera held upside down.
I brewed it for Sliders Sunday like the latte I had nearby but in Nik Color Efex. There was a bit of solarisation, a bicolour filter, a blur vignette and some other things in the magic. It was processed from the raw in PhotoLab first.
As usual, it was the symmetric geometry that appealed to me and the abstraction created by the multiple exposures.
Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Sliders Sunday :)
This photo is personally dedicated to Johanna Willemijn!!! :o)

In this "machine," AC electricity was changed to DC electricity. These electrons were added to hydrogen atoms, giving them a negative charge, which created a strong repelling force which was the first stage of acceleration. It got the hydrogen atoms (each consisting of a single proton) up to 7% of the speed of light. So, still a long way to go to almost the speed of light.
This is a rotated image of the view looking up under the entrance plaza of the International Jewelry Center, adjacent to Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles. The line of rings that seem to float in space are really a series of semi-circular transparent hoops set into the reflective ceiling.
I also featured the exterior of this building in several of the pictures in my Mirrored Images series.

This is a linear accelerator for radiation therapy. It's built to teach kids with cancer about the treatment process and to make it seem less daunting. The model was conceived in collaboration with Dr. Ming Zhi and Dr. Behnood Khodayari at Kaiser Permanente.
I do not have instructions for the model, but the original model as shown in the photo is for sale. Contact me for more info.
Check out the video of the creation to see its functional components.

The machine was built in 1794 by Johann Jeckel in Krumau (Cesky Krumlov) in Czech Republic.
