Two layers thick and a kilometer long, these slabs of concrete shield personnel from the accelerator when it's in use. They can be moved by three on-site cranes. Slabs with padlocks in them are "keystones" which ensure the synchrotron can't be started without their replacement.

The Portland State University Business Accelerator, which was launched by Starve Ups in 2004 was just ranked one of the top two physical accelerators in the world.
In 2004 Starve Ups was hired to launch the Portland State Business Accelerator where we placed 11 of the 14 original startups there, created their logo, built their site and ran Starve Ups events there for the initial year. 11 years later they are ranked in the top physical accelerators in the world.
