Thanks to texturelib.com

I've been getting a lot of views from an "unknown source". If you've recently (March 2012) found this on a website, and clicked through, I'd appreciate you leaving a comment or dropping me a mail so I can verify where the views are coming from and if it's legit or not.

Much appreciated.

Dedicated to charlie*sedanayasa who posted my first testimonial today.

Thank you charlie.

When music becomes a pictorial art.

When colors create rhythm and dynamics of movement.

Disassemble something into its primordial components and combine it in an order dictated by your own inspiration. As a goal, as an inner desire.

Abstract Expressionism in photography, inspired by well-known abstract artists of the mid-20th Century such as Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Frank Bowling, Gerhardt Richter and orthers.

'Detail' from The Baptism of Christ, by expressionist artist Stephen B. Whatley - that has shipped to collectors in the USA.

You can see the full painting and a film clip a few posts back in this photostream.

Stephen B. Whatley is a Catholic convert, a calling he felt through his spiritual search to survive early tragedy in his life; and his exhibition, "Paintings From Prayer" was staged at London's Westminster Cathedral in 2013.

The British London-based artist gets what he humbly feels a 'Divine Push' to paint tributes of faith, alongside his other work - a large body of which is on public display every day in the City of London, just outside the Tower of London - where his series of 30 paintings commissioned by Historic Royal Palaces, 20 years ago, vibrantly chart the history of The Tower.

As a permanent art exhibit reproduced throughout the walkway leading from Tower Hill Station they form a bright and colourful entrance to the Tower of London.

"This is the moment when you're holding a vinyl record of old music and there's a sampler on the table. The process of searching and recording, slicing and playing pads.

Every time it's like you're blind, start listening to something you've never heard before; funk, jazz, pop. Trying to find what you need. It's like putting together a mosaic. And gradually, a new one picture appears from the old parts"

This one comes close to some things I've been attempting.

Deconstruction, 2017

It's easy in today's world, with even the most sophisticated camers sporting image stabilization, color corrections, and auto focus, to assume that professional photography is just a camera click and wa la! a beautiful image that your followers will drool over on social media will create an abundance of print sales and populate workshops.

The business of photography is just like any other business. After the camera's turned off, the images need to be processed, the website and social media need to be updated, the conferences given and taken, the contacts contacted, the books kept, the taxes paid, and hey it's your turn to cook dinner!

So my morning begins on a stool topped with a pillow (for my grandma buns) and I go to work. I play with the condensation gathering on the back window as the sun comes up, at times with stunning color, most times not. I play with the settings on my camera. I move the camera in different ways, but mostly I play with the light. My mantra is What If?

And then I go to work.

Thanks should go to Vincent van Gogh. That someone made the photoshop paint filter. I am a big fan of all kinds of art. But to see how I can turn a photo in to a fake painting is so fun. Without photography I would never know how to paint light like this. What a fine glow in this shot. The normal image is nice but this really makes this really pop. Hope some of you enjoy this image. Have fun get out and do art.
