This is the mountain I attempted to climb yesterday, I've climbed it many times but after less than an hour into the trek I had to return thoroughly exhausted. Very disappointed that Covid is still hampering my efforts.

Nimbus Cloud resembles a rain cloud and is a reflection on the vitality of Waller Creek and the nature that surrounds it.
The green ghost you see was someone walking through the frame..;) I tried to get one without people walking into and out of the frame but I got tired of standing there with my finger on the button..;)
Once buried in an urn there is nothing more left of life, but obviously posterity is a different matter.

an absolute must to fully enjoy this picture
This was on the day I visited the Park at Gleisdreieck, which is an amazing place and as I have probably said before, it's an absolute treasure trove of photo opportunities everywhere you look in every genre you can imagine! As I let slip there, this wasn't at midnight but with the Aperture set higher for sharpness and the Shutter Speed to 1/500 this sufficiently darkened the image and with the additional WB "Incandescent" gave a beautiful nighttime cinematic feel.
I used the Nikkor 55-200mm VR1 for this shit with the VR activated. I hope you like it!
So that's Monday gone for today, I hope everyone is well, and so as always, thank you! :)
PS: Zoom in ;)

1598
Alfonso II, the last Duke of the Este family, dies and the territories of the Duchy of Ferrara pass to the Papal State. In the meantime, the Po Delta advanced northwards with branches of Tramontana, Levante and Scirocco.
The Po di Tramontana, in particular, began with its sediments to raise the depths of the lagoon towards Chioggia.
1600-1604
For fear that the north-eastern expansion of the Delta would bury the Venice lagoon, in the early 1600s the Po was diverted south towards the Sacca di Goro with an artificial canal which is its current bed. This intervention called "Taglio di Porto Viro", determined the beginning of the formation of the modern Delta.
The old bed became a navigable canal, the Canal Bianco-Po di Levante. If before 1600 the Delta expanded by about 53 hectares a year, from 1604 to 1840 it increased to 135 hectares a year.

Jewel Mountain, Chugach Mountain Range, Alaska
I am not certain if the mountains in Alaska really are endless, or if they just seem that way. But from the moment the plane descended into Anchorage and I first caught a glimpse of them through the clouds, until takeoff a week later when I spent an hour glued to the plane window in absolute awe of the unbelievable scenery we were flying over on a crystal clear winter day, my eyes, mind and heart were immersed in the mountains. There is a wildness to the mountains there, and a sense of being pristine and untouched, that makes them feel different from the mountains here at home.
The sprawling Chugach, the rugged Talkeetnas, and the epic Alaska range, home to Denali, the highest mountain in North America, all provided a visual overload that had me constantly wanting to look in all directions at once, and wishing I could take photos for every one of the 7 3/4 hours of daylight that Alaska offers in mid-February 😄 Even on the two days that it snowed nearly non-stop and the mountains were hidden in the clouds and fog for most of the day, their presence was palpable. And now that I have been home for a few days, I miss them.
Alaska is a place that gets a hold of me in a way that few other places ever have. And though it had been 30 years since my last trip to this special place, once I arrived, somehow it felt like I had always been there.
(I'll admit I was a little skeptical when my daughter asked if we could go to Alaska for her February school break, but it was actually an amazing place to visit in the winter and we are already considering a return trip next year!)

Even though I'm facing my 73rd Birthday next week, I believe Photography still brings out the child in me sometimes, especially when I get around the corner of a new to me location and I'm hit with such beauty as this that I came across today. I call them Serendipity moments and they are absolute treasures.
Though I have tried to capture the scene as I saw it, in all its wonderful colours and textures, the camera will never match the wonder of the human eye.

If that's how you feel these days, I don't blame you. It is like
if a great madness cloud was preventing common sense from reaching human minds. In this terrible age where the path of evolution is blocked by ignorance and political polarization, I will continue to get drunk on the idea of a better world.
Been sttuborn is the way. Get drunk too. Cheers !

Legend has it that the godess Athena threw her spear into the ground of Akropolis and out sprang the first olive tree or even the tree of life in Greek mythos. Todays tree is a later reminder and behind it the Erechteion/Erechtheum built 421 - 401 BC once containing several shrines, and later to become a Christian church. Is it possible anywhere to come closer to absolute mythos than here?
All matter, unless at the lowest temperature absolute, emits light (or, radiation). The hotter, the more so. As long as light is visible - and it does not matter where it comes from - we can use it for photography, generally speaking. In this specific case, however, the light source does not agree with my electronic shutter ("banding") so that the mechanical shutter was used. Fuji X-E3 plus Samyang tele lens at F5.6.
I'll be honest. This past September, I was feeling a little discouraged and stressed out. With constantly feeling anxiety, grief, and being sick, I felt like i was doing everything wrong. And then this absolute peach joined our sim. She has brought so many new spectacular players in by the droves, has rped with everyone under the sun. She's been so welcoming, so kind and is such a creative and fun roleplayer, and has given a whole new spark and life to our community. Thank you so much for joining the TMR famjamborie. And congratulations on RPer of the month. it is so well deserved <3
