Have a WONDERFUL day my FRIENDS!!!
I was able to have a visit of these cloisters in 2015. This is the album of that visit. --- --- --- www.flickr.com/photos/136891509@N07/albums/72157662757889... --- --- --- --- This is what the Cini Foundation is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cini_Foundation

I was able to photograph the Aurora borealis for a long time and this time the sky remained almost cloudless. My wife Tarja and I photographed three nights in a familiar place and every night the northern lights came out. Here’s one shot from the trip.

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

I was able to scan in my husband's design and calligraphy onto fabric which I then stitched and quilted, adding beads for the stars. Each letter took about 2 minutes to stitch (50 letters in first four lines!), securing the top and bottom with hand knots!
A true labor of LOVE
Was able to capture these four geese in an interesting pose, all seem to be focused in different directions while forming a kind of diamond shape on the water.
Thanks for viewing !
It is incredible to be able to enjoy a completely snowy landscape with the light of the full moon, it is the closest thing to being on the moon! Additionally, if the Northern Lights show up, the enjoyment is the best! The Kirkjufell, or better known in Game of Thrones as The mountain in "Beyond the Wall", is a highly recommended place to visit if you travel to Iceland. I hope you like this lunar landscape illuminated by the Northern Lights and the full moon.

I haven’t been able to go out and work on my night time series for the past several weeks. But my camera still calls to me, so I’ve returned to the studio, so to speak, to shoot flowers. I decided to use light painting. The result is really an eclectic mix of styles. Each day, I ran with whatever idea came to me, and improvised as I went along. So this is more an odds and sods collection than a series of thematically connected images. There has been a lot of discards along the way, but enough keepers to start posting. It is keeping me engaged, and I hope to soon get back out under night skies.
For a look at them as a collection, check out, Flowers & Light Painting

Been away a bit.
Baffled how it happened but the Monday after Christmas began coughing. Started as a tickle. Then turned croup like. Was able to get to urgent care that Thursday and a rapid test was positive for covid.
Because of my recent cancers I qualified for the myoclonal antibody treatment. Felt remarkably better for a bit.
But this sure has been a roller coaster.
I feel so bad for the unvaccinated. If I've been this awful after three Pfizers, I can't imagine surviving without having been vaxxed.
I had been given Prednisone for the croup/bronchial inflammation which I didn't start taking until I lost the sense of smell. Surprisingly the sense came back after two days.
A week after I showed symptoms, Kim showed, but hers were very different. She had severe nausea and headache. She hasn't had the respiratory involvement, but her test this past week was also positive. She's on the recovery roller coaster too.
Sometimes we feel some better, then it all hits again.
Been using our large gym ball to lie over. Way back at the beginning of the pandemic a bunch of us who had been Physical Therapists had talked about the importance of lying prone and the importance of postural drainage, which we used to do for patients in the hospital before Respiratory Therapy took it over.
Lying on one's chest on the ball supports the diaphragm and makes coughing more comfortable. Pushing forward to get the head low and butt high will help get secretions moving and excreted. Plus rolling on the ball is very good for the back.
I suppose my involvement here at Flickr will be a bit spotty for awhile yet. Hope everyone stays well.
This has been baffling. We've been masked whenever we've left the house. Kim goes to work but since she showed symptoms after me, I'm the likely one to have given it to her. In the week before showing symptoms I'd been once to the grocery store. And I've always double masked. I've always brought along my alcohol spray bottle to spray down the shopping carts.
One thing we haven't kept up is the wiping down of the grocery items before bringing them into the house. And we haven't been wiping down the Amazon packages that get delivered. But that method of transference has always been very low on the list. Being unmasked in a closed space has always been the chief method of transmission.
Go figure.
Not been able to get out and about too much over the last couple of weeks so had a quick look back over some Autumn shots from years gone by.
A Red Deer Stag from Tatton Park, standing proud in silhouette on the raised ground in the parkland. Taken many moons ago.
This is my photo for the 52 in 2019 Challenge - #34 - a work of art.
As my hands are so sore and I have been so bored not being able to sew my little critters or take photos, someone suggested colouring in with gel pens. I tried and found that I could manage it as I had to put no pressure on the paper, and this is the result of my first attempt. It looks better in real life as some of the pens are pearl which gives it a lovely effect.
I was able to spend some time watching this coyote hunt in Lois Hole Provincial Park. I'm not sure I've ever been this close to one, but she didn't seem to mind my presence. I believe she may have some shoulder mites as evidenced by the missing fur that you can see. Hopefully it doesn't cause her too much trouble.

The injury affecting the leg (on the right in this image) of this Great Blue Heron is clear when you see how the toes of the foot are facing out at an angle reverse to expected. Still, it was able to capture this substantial fish. This individual was at Elliston Lake, an urban park in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. 5 of 6 in a series

When will be able to return to India?
Recently, they said on the news that a new 'Indian Mutation' was found in Israel, that is quiet out of the crisis, due to a very intense vaccination operation.

I like freight under wire. I really wish I'd have seen the Milwaukee Road stuff out west. Anyway, this past Sunday I was able to score a couple of Chicago area items that have been on the list - South Shore freight under wire, and CN-IC freight along the old IC electrified commuter main south out of Chicago.
The CN runs a daily job out of the former GM&O Glenn Yard to the former EJ&E Kirk Yard. Normally threading through downtown Chicago around lunchtime, most days this job can be an easy target in the electrified zone. In addition, this run has historically rated unique motive power - even back in IC/ICG days when the job turned at Markham. This day a pair of IC SD70s and a GP38-2 were in charge of 47 cars. Thanks to my buddy CWW, I was able to keep track of their movement while speedily driving south from Milwaukee.
They are passing over the diamonds of the South Shore Line connection that allows for CSSSB (NICTD) passenger trains direct access to the IC catenary they use to reach downtown. The South Shore has always relied on the IC to get downtown. But in 1911 this interlocking was configured to allow CSSSB trains direct access to the IC commuter mains. Up till that time South Shore passengers were subject to a clumsy arrangement of having to walk between IC and South Shore equipment using a pedestrian overpass that spanned the IC freight tracks. Part of the Kensington tower is seen through the trees on the right. And extreme right is the clock tower of the Pullman Palace Car Company administration building. Built in 1880, this building is the cornerstone of the Pullman National Historical Park Visitor Center that honors the history of the company.
The ideal combination: the sun be able to shine during sunset when there are clouds. In this case, a thunderstorm.

I was able to capture a few more images of the coyote that I photographed a couple of weeks ago. It was a lot more cautious, and yet curious wanting to know what that thing was across the field in a ground blind. I like the coloration and the curious look on its face.
After an intense night of work delivering all the gifts to young and old, Santa is back home by commuter train. He will be able to rest and eat well to celebrate Christmas.
Après une intense nuit de travail pour livrer tous les cadeaux aux petits et grands, le Père Noël est de retour à la maison par le train de banlieue. Il va pouvoir se reposer et bien manger pour fêter Noël.
Sometimes he will set up on the carpet by staring at you with such tender, affectionate and human eyes that they intend to you and we will no longer be able to believe that a soul does not reside there....................A volte si metterà sul tappeto fissandoti con gli occhi così teneri, affettuosi e umani che intendono e non saremo più in grado di credere che un'anima non risieda lì
Even after getting a digital camera in 2000, I never thought I'd be able to get a decent photo of a hummingbird. I'm happy to report that I was very wrong. I never did get a Rufous hummingbird which seems to prefer a more coastal and norther range in California, but I have well over 100 more-than-decent Anna's in my archives.
The Anna's live in and near my back yard and, even with the feeders being filled weekly, they prefer to have the flowers all to themselves and without competition. The males are feisty, and do not share. Now do they make it easy to get them with their gorgets ablaze with reds and greens. In ordder to get the face and neck feathers in full colors, they should be facing into the sun. The funny thing is that, even when facing into the sun, if they are almost "enfulfed in the sun," the reflections and colors are at their best at 80%. To explain: if they are in full sun the colors blend and feather detail won't be seen. The solution: over a 25 year period, take at least 1,000 images and hope for the best. I don't know if thir theory is correct, but the best colors I've achieved are wen the Anna's are handing from a flower and all of the colors are captured.
It doesn't really matter. It's a thrill to get any hummer that shows detail and four colors: reds, purple, yellow, and green. The back is almost all green.
The display that the male puts on for the female is remarkable. The male flies to about 100 feet, then dives head first at full speed. The the bottom of the dive, he clicks his two tail feathers together and then heads for the sky again. It was only five or so years ago that th clicking sound was determined to come from the rubbing of the two tail feathers. A groups of scientists from U.C. Berkley with high powered cameras and microphones captured the moment they made the sound. I'm sure there's a YT video showing the display and sound. Let's just all agree that it was worth every dollar to have solved the question.
Video: just one minute and worth every penny! www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_2JFK-tnnE
California is the home to Anna's year-round. My research - which cost 12 cents - shows that should they disappear from feeders for a week or two in January or February, it has mated and is now nesting. Oddly, my first images of an Anna's was six images of a nest: it's an inch across and will comfortably and warmly hold the the two one-gram each Anna's chicks. My first disappointment with Anna's was the death of one in the nesy when one night, the temperature dipped to 30°. I was very sad: mom sat on a nearby branch for two days and then abandoned the nest.
Miracles are for the ones who are able to realize…That evening, I had a guest at my window, a Christmas Tree, brought the amazing clouds and sunset together. -------------------------------------------------- Mucizeler sadece onun farkına varanlara gösteriyor kendini…O akşamüstü sanki bir Noel Ağacı gelip pencereme konmuştu beraberinde getirdiği muhteşem bulutlar ve günbatımıyla… BeNowMeHere, Lausanne, Switzerland, 2015 via 500px bit.ly/2zOutdk
I reprocessed this data that I shot in November 2022. I used PixInsight and was able to pull out a lot more detail.
The Triangulum Galaxy lies ~2.7 million light years away from Earth and is part of our local group of galaxies. It lies in the constellation Triangulum, from where it gets its name. Charles Messier cataloged it first in 1764. He published his Catalog of Nebulae and Star Clusters in 1771 and listed it as object number 33, hence the name M33.

I polar aligned my mount using SharpCap Pro. My Sony a7rIII and adapted Nikkor 500mm f/4 P AI-S were mounted on an ADM vixen rail and secured to the SkyWatcher EQ6-R mount. The guide scope/camera was attached to the camera's hot shoe. I used PHD2 to autogude during the imaging session. DeepSkyStacker was used to combine all frames, and the outputted TIFF file was brought into PixInsight using: STF, Cropping, Dynamic Background Extraction, BlurXTerminator, plate solving, color correction, NoiseXTerminator and then the DSO was separated from the stars, and both files processed and stretched separately and then recombined using PixelMath. That file was brought into Lightroom for Metadata and EXIF tags, light post-processing, and cropping to the final image.
Standing In Snow, on the way home from Ullswater i was following the patchy snow falls and found a field with 7 or 8 ponies. I was able to take a few shots this being my favourite.
A windy day at the lake : blowing winds with clouds and sunlight make for fantastic day for photography. There waves on the lake which were 3-4 four feet tall at times which were breaking on the rocks production some beautiful patters. I used a 10 vary ND filter at 3 stop to slow the shot just enough to be able to capture the flow of the water as it hit the rocks.
I was finally able to experience the beautiful creative world of Hélio Oiticica, a Brazilian artist who documented a movement. I have loved the music behind Tropicalia, especially the surreal psychedelic sounds of Os Mutantes, for some time now and this was great to experience too!

Taking leave never felt so good, and being able to take my newfound pet, Eye-ore, down to this blue ball called Earth has been a riot.
I have quietly snuck a sit-down spot in Captain Kitten Caboose's private home. Unfortunately, I can not list the address in my space journal. I will be lucky my pet doesn't eat her cat.
Although I miss the sun on our ship, and I miss climbing in my spare time, I find the work we are doing to be the most important part of my life thus far. Perhaps the research and mapping we, the crew, are doing over the next few years will not benefit this planet immediately, but in the years to come our firsts will shape how the Earth becomes engaged in a galaxy of worlds, not just our own.
The debate of energy, oil, and resources rages on throughout our world. It is my hope and the hope of the crew that we can explore and understand better methods to manage our beautiful planet without further damage.
Now lets check out her fridge.. shhhh...
Signing off,
Captain Gray
We seem to be stuck in a perpetual October weather pattern. Not that I'm complaining as it's nice to be able to paddle this time of year!

Last week I was lucky to be able to visit Monument Valley for a second time. Once again I was in awe of the majestic buttes rising from the desert floor and excited to photograph them but somewhat disappointed in the cloudless skies. Some clouds might help make the scene more dramatic but it wasn't meant to be. All I could do was wait and hope the sunset would help me out a bit. As the sun fell in the sky the cliff wall I stood upon slowly crept towards the valley's three most prominent buttes. Then, just before the valley was swallowed by shadow and only for a brief moment the sky finally produced some color as the last light of the day kissed the top of the towers. Not a bad end of the day.
Recently I was able to enjoy the last days of autumn in southern Germany close to the boarder of France in the wonderful "Pfälzer Wald", the Rhineland-Palatinate Woodlands. These red sandstone rock formations are stunning. I was lucky to catch these evening sunbeams, which lasted only a couple of minutes before the sky got dark and cloudy again.
