I fell by the wayside like everyone else

I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, but I was just kidding myself

Our every moment, I start to replace

'Cause now that they're gone, all I hear are the words that I needed to say

When you hurt under the surface

Like troubled water running cold

Well, time can heal, but this won't

So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better?

If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather

So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting?

It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless

So, before you go

Was never the right time, whenever you called

Went little by little by little until there was nothing at all

Our every moment, I start to replay

But all I can think about is seeing that look on your face

When you hurt under the surface

Like troubled water running cold

Well, time can heal, but this won't

So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better?

If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather

So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting?

It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless

So, before you go

Would we be better off by now

If I'd have let my walls come down?

Maybe, I guess we'll never know

You know, you know

Before you go, was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better?

If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather

So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting?

It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless

So, before you go

Flatiron Building (or once called the Fuller Building after a major construction contractor that had their offices there) at 23rd St and Fifth Avenue.I had taken shots of buildings in the area that you've seen already like the old Western Union building, the old retail stores on Ladies Mile, and the Sohmer Piano Building (off to the right with the cupola).I saw the Flatiron building again the same day as those and I said "Why not".I took the shot sitting down this time to get the entire building. There was more light on it this time showing detail, the last shot I took showed a lot of shadow.I've never been inside the building but I read that it has 22 floors.Strangely though, there's an elevator that goes from the 20th to the 22nd floor. The 21st floor originally was an attic, above it another story and a cornice were added in 1915 to give the building additional height due to complaints of high winds (see YouTube video below) coming off the top of the structure.A "draughting room" with skylights was put on the 22nd floor to regulate the air flow of the building.Hope you like.Happy Weekend. youtu.be/7DhLmhs0UI4 daytoninmanhattan.blogspot.com/2011/06/1902-flatiron-buil...

A last tribute to my dear father-in-law, who passed away in his sleep last weekend. He had been ill for some time.

He was very fond of gardening, so instead of flowers I folded some butterflies, representing his children and grandchildren.

We will miss him very much.

I will also be absent from Flickr for the rest of this week. Take care and see you later.

Enjoying a very nice, sunny Autumn afternoon with a great friend at a wild life refuge. I liked this photo in color but I was inspired by a Flickr follower to change to mono. I used my variable ND filter on this one.

It had been a hard year in 2016 and the effects have still been going on. Especialy in our country, Turkey, we had a tough and dark period and we are still facing it.. We are going to face a 'heavy' kick off on April 16th. That darker, still going on period have effected most of us. It effected our psychologicy mainly. For a long I was not able to take any photos for example. Our 'fight' is still going on; we are not giving up. We are hoping that, this new season, the sunshine, the spring, will be the start of 'A New Beginning'..

A SPRING MORNING

I awake light-hearted this morning of spring,

Everywhere round me the singing of birds --

But now I remember the night, the storm,

And I wonder how many blossoms were broken.

- Meng Haoran -

This is a poem by Meng Haoranwas who was a major Tang dynasty poet.

A lovely walk through the snow, enjoying the moment

A few minutes after the sunset began to succumb to a darkening sky.

Sometimes all you need is a hug and all the stress melts away

"The guitar is a small orchestra. It is polyphonic. Every string is a different color, a different voice."

~ Andrés Segovia Torres

I absolutely agree with the quotation of that virtuoso and famous Spanish classical guitarist :

I first learned to play the violin as a teenager - much later as an adult I finally got myself a classical guitar ... and love the possibility of polyphony with the fingerstyle.

t is always a thrill to see the Resplendent Quetzal . Both male and female are beautiful but the male is truly exceptional and often we see the whole bird from a distance and it is breathtakingly beautiful to see. This image was captured to show the incredible beauty of his face. I first saw them as a weaving in Guatemala and I knew them I would love to see this beauty in real life one day. He did not disappoint me and My heart still skips a beat whenever I have the opportunity to see him.

Wishing you a lovely and blessed evening !!

A moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life.

A tropical goodnight kiss from Darwin Harbour in the Northern Territory. Sunsets in the tropics are beautiful and leave a lasting impression. (Best seen full screen)

A rare sunny moment on a misty rainy day. I loved how it made the colors on the trees pop out.

You can now come along on all my hikes with me! Every week I take to the trails and come back with a lot of footage. You can find me here (or on the trails!) www.youtube.com/channel/UCP7tyb8jDXxXWrla7y_FhfA

These are two different life stages of the same flower. It blooms as seen in the top photo, then forms a green spiky ball, then it "lets its hair down" in the final seed stage. (The hairy stage often reminds me of a Muppet!)

It is one of the earlier subalpine flowers to bloom so the meadow and lake basin at Owyhigh were filled with these flowers in their various stages of life.
