Second turist gave up over here.

Some people do not acclimate to high altitude. There is no way to get to the Andes the day before and play sports, walk, breath, eat and we live at sea level.

It seems spring came early this year, snow melts, puddles everywhere and very slippery...

Winter was beautiful and snowy, perfect for my long distance walks.

I'm back and I'll try to catch up. :-)

Many thanks to everyone for your visit, comments and faves! Much appreciated!

Have a wonderful week ahead! :-)

Sexten Dolomites (Dolomiti di Sesto / Sextener Dolomiten) - Parco Naturale Tre Cime

Actually, the name of the game is "Kendama". Kendamakeh is just Kendama with bokeh applied. =)

Kendama (sword and ball) is a traditional Japanese skill toy. The ken has three cups and a spike which fits into the hole in the ball. The kendama is a variant of the classic cup-and-ball game, and the Hispanic world toy known as boliche or balero.

Here, an unidentified man spends an unusually warm January afternoon listening to music while playing with a Kendama toy in Director Park, located in Downtown Portland, Oregon. The unexpected mild conditions persuaded many to take advantage of what could be a final opportunity for outdoor activity before winter weather hits the city.

Bound for Chicago, a Metra train sprints through Wheaton on a wintry Sunday morning. My intention had been to continue with my Thai agricultural series but, with the recent onslaught of arctic air here in the Upper Midwest, I decided to temporarily put the rice on ice :) Stay warm friends! Or, if you live in a warm climate, ice versa :)

e 3.7 cm Flak 36 was an anti-aircraft cannon produced by Nazi Germany that saw widespread service in the Second World War. The cannon was fully automatic and effective against aircraft flying at altitudes up to 4,200 m.The cannon was produced in both towed and self-propelled versions. Having a flexible doctrine, the Germans used their anti-aircraft pieces in ground support roles as well; 37 mm caliber guns were no exception to that.

da: it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Margherita_di_Belice

A sinistra:

A destra:

The Wildalpjoch is a 1720 meter high mountain in the Bavarian Alps. It is surrounded by the peaks of Wendelstein, Kesselwand, Soin and Hochsalwand. In the south is the Sudelfeld. It is a rather more frequented by locals and therefore less frequented than its neighbor Wendelstein. But you have almost the same view. In winter, the summit is a popular destination for ski touring enthusiasts.

I took the chance and used the last warm and sunny weekend for a wonderful hike and photography tour. You can see the Brünnstein mountain in the foreground and the Tyropl alps in the background. The warm falling wind the so called Föhn has blown the clouds away so that you have a beautiful distant view.

Aussicht vom Wildalpjoch-Gipfel - Bayern

Autumn kittens. (3 kittens) 🍁🐈🍂 The best photo models 💛

These are not the same cats that I uploaded before (see photo in the first comment, there are 1 adult cat and 2 kittens).

I wanted to take more photos of these cats on Monday in the short lunchtime because we had some snow... but cats didn't want to walk in the snow 😂, they didn't want to get their paws cold... hahaha 😂 they were inside.

Well, of course... they are autumn cats, not winter cats. 😂

Thamudic and Nabataean inscriptions, depicting camel caravans, hunting warriors and various animals, are common throughout the Wadi Rum area. The Alameleh inscriptions, near the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and on the edge of the Diseh district, are some of the most comprehensive and best preserved.

The desert trips with the jeeps are well organised and I would recomend the 4 hour jeep trip, any excursion will be organised for you by Mr khaled.

In these days, as the nights get longer and the days shorter, I like to remember the time back a year ago, when we were together in Canada to discover the uniquely beautiful nature. And we were able to spend so many wonderful hours and days together, that we look back with joy and gratitude on this blessed time. My eldest son stayed in Canada for a other 6 months and did not return until February this year. In that time when he was in Canada, close friendships developed. His longing for the country and his dear friends was so great, that he went back to Canada this summer again, to meet there his friends and the beautiful nature again. This picture was taken at this time and I am so grateful to my beloved son, that I am allowed to share it with you, dear friends. Thank you very much Jonah. (Sometimes it seems to me, that my son and I can see such natural beauties through the same eyes. I would have captured this beautiful lake like him. I am so happy that we both have so much joy in nature and the passion for photography, to experience and share with each other the wonders of creation.)

I have tears in my eyes, because I too would like to return to this breathtakingly beautiful country with its fantastic landscapes. It was one of the best times in my life.

Thank you so much my dear friends, for take part of my personel journey and my deep feelings for this wonderful nature and also for the people who belong to this beautiful country. The indigenous people there deserve our respect and recognition. I am so grateful to have stirred the spirit of freedom and peace there. I was never as close to my childhood dream as I was in Canada in these days. I'll come back, God's willing.

To the picture: Peyto Lake is a mountain lake in the Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. The lake is fed by glaciers and is world-famous for its eye-catching turquoise color. The photo was taken in the early morning hours. This location is one of the most beautiful viewpoint you can have there.

A prayer of peace

May we seek the truth, and speak it quietly.

May we listen for truth in the words of others with open minds and hearts.

And may we always remember the peace that may be found in silence.

Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner passing through the foot of Gemini. After what seemed like weeks of clouds, some morning clearing finally occurred.

Discovered in 1900, comet 21P/Giacobini–Zinner is a periodic comet with an orbital period of 6.6 years and an estimated diameter of 2km. With a minimum orbit intersection distance of 0.035 AU, it's classified as a potentially hazardous object.

Two open clusters (M35 and NGC 2158) and a super nova remnant (IC 443) are also visible in the field of view. 21P approx. mag 7.1.

...O speranze, speranze; ameni inganni

Obbliarvi non so. Fantasmi, intendo,

Inutile miseria. E sebben vóti

Son gli anni miei, sebben deserto, oscuro

Il mio stato mortal, poco mi toglie

La fortuna, ben veggo. Ahi, ma qualvolta

A voi ripenso, o mie speranze antiche,

Ed a quel caro immaginar mio primo;

Che di cotanta speme oggi m'avanza;

Risovverrammi; e quell'imago ancora

Sospirar mi farà, farammi acerbo

L'esser vissuto indarno, e la dolcezza

Del dì fatal tempererà d'affanno...

7DWF, Monday: Anything Goes

Surprisingly empty upper platforms at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) on a beautiful summer evening. Believe it or not, Berlin Hauptbahnhof is the largest train station in Europe, with approximately 300 000 travellers per day, making it the 4th most frequented train station in Germany (after Hamburg, Munich, and Frankfurt/Main). Or the least frequented, at least on a Saturday evening at 19:39 o' clock. Well, the next train to Zurich from platform 13 wasn't due until 21:04. At least there was a lonely dove, an employee of the Deutsche Bahn AG (in the red hat), shuffling along the platform, and a guy who organized his luggage. And us: Sabine.R, marionrosengarten, --Conrad-N-- and H. Roebke :-)
