Way up near the top of the canyon there's a broad meadow. This area clearly gets more moisture than the rest of the canyon, there are grasses and trees. There's also a tremendous view across the Tularosa Basin. That's White Sands National Monument in the distance.
My best capture of snow, but really my preferred!! 2 tracks, one friend, warped sun, white everywhere!! I love this shot, I think I'm going to enlarge it and frame it on my house wall!!

Este pajarillo lo encontramos en el jardin, Lunita quiso jugar con él y el pobrecito se asustó y se chocó con la verja, rapidamente lo cogi (temia que Luna le hiciera daño sin querer) y lo entre en casa, solo se quedo atontadito durante un rato, al ver que no tenia heridas lo saque al jardin y lo deje volar para que buscara a su mama.... estuve a puntito de quedarmelo pero estoy segura que lo unico que queria el pobre era volver con su mama alli en el nidito... a que era muy lindo!? :D

10 minutes from where my previous (and by far most popular) shot was taken is this huge span of a bridge along State Route 20. This whole area is a recreational vehicle area, so I was constantly surrounded by the sound of 2 stroke motorbikes and off road vehicles. But I stood my ground, to get these 7 shots.. and thus.. I present it to you.
"The oldest living city in the world".
This is another picture taken this morning at sunrise near Sankathi Ghat along river Ganga in Varanasi (Benaras).
It belongs to the series of a new topic about wrestlers in Varanasi which I am showing here with no PP work for a change.
This is Vinod who is also trained by a Russian coach, he has also a little "shop" down the ghat where the gym is standing where he is selling pan, thea, water and sweets.
The gym where we did those pictures is facing river Ganga which gave this vivid colors so early in the morning.
Pehlwan means wrestler in Hindi.

While driving the brother-in-laws van with all of us returning back to Tokyo from a wonderful ski/onsen vacation, I noticed the reflection of the road in my lenses while looking in the rearview mirror.
Pulled out my trusty Canon IXY 910 (always on my person these days!), quickly set to macro mode and snapped the reflection off my Oakley Half-Jackets (lenses are actually this color).

I begin to like more and more the black and white images!
Orlando Rebelo (a portuguese photographer) once said "There is something about black and white that color cannot transmit... I think that colors distract us from the essential on an image".
I think this is the goal on a good black&white photo!

I found this larva today under a leaf of our geranium (shaamdani) flowerpot.
It's a one of dangerous enemy or pest for this kind of plant who eat leafs destructively.
The half of leafs were damaged with this larva and now our lovely geranium plant are peaceful from this glutton enemy.
But it was a great model for my macro photography :)

Common name: Cabbage Looper
Scientific name: Trichoplusia ni (Hubner)
Facts: The cabbage looper is a green caterpillar with white stripes down the back. They have only three pairs of fleshy prolegs (legs on the abdomen) and loop when crawling. They grow to 1 1/4 inches long. Adults are a brown moth with sucking mouthparts.

In back of the Stage Harbor Lighthouse at Chatham, Cape Cod. This landing is hidden away a bit on Sears Neck, at the end of a series of winding roads. Though I grew up here I've only just been there for the first time this year. Very odd to find new places in a town only four miles on each side and surrounded by ocean.

The vast (185 metres long, 66 metres wide and 44 metres high) curved roof iron and glass trainshed is designed by Clement van Bogaert and constructed between 1895 and 1899. The station is widely regarded as the finest example of railway architecture in Belgium. It is often referred to as a "Railway Cathedral".

As much as I love shooting with my Pentax K10D it isn't practical to carry to/from work everyday given that its a full-sized semi-pro dSLR camera. So bought a tiny Canon IXY 910IS digital camera as my cameraphone, while handy, doesn't quite cut it as a serious camera for shots around Tokyo.
Non-HDR 1xp shot taken from the 36th floor of the ANA hotel, shortly after drinks with some co-workers, looking towards the Tokyo Midtown development on the right and Roppongi Hills on the left (where my earlier shot of the Tokyo Nightscape was taken).
