A rather sad picture; part of the remaining facade of the Bank buildings in Belfast, which was completely gutted by fire a few days ago. It was originally built in 1785 and it’s one of the city’s oldest buildings. The section in the picture originally had a clock. It will be a sad, sad loss if the whole building has to be knocked down.

OK - I'm going to try again & just start over fresh. I got way too caught up in trying to 'catch up' last year that I just 'quit'... so am trying again. :)

This pic was for our mom's group project - several kids posed with one of the #s in 2009 for collages... this is Cassidy's "zero"... :p
We went to the movies this afternoon - saw "Tale of Despereaux" - didn't like it so much. :p Cassidy was scared most of the movie, sat in my lap... Just not a great 'kid's movie' even though it was animated & the story was just SO STRANGE. LOL
Another day, another Bat-variant.
So looking through Vlad Palych's photostream, I saw Zero Year Batman. I had meant to make him for a while, but it had slipped my mind. And so, here he is, along with a few others!
L to R: Red Hood, Batgirl, Batman, Nightwing.
Red Hood is totally purist, and I apologize for the out-of-focus shot of him.
Batgirl has the shirt under her armor, gloves, and boots made with tape.
Batman has backpack straps, sleeves, a belt, and boots made with tape, and a coil of rope made with thread.
Nightwing's mask and chest symbol are tape, and the coat is cut from leather. Not faux leather. Not pleather. Real leather.

Gravity is trumped by surface tension at this small scale. This is four dew drops on a single moss seed shoot. This is really small. The whole scene is less than an inch tall. Reversed 50mm lens in front of a 5MP Casio P&S.
If I knew how to focus stack I could have gotten the sharp refractions into this as well. I have several from this series at different focal points, one with really sharp refractions of the moss, but the seed shoot is badly out of focus. Minimal depth of field here, to say the least. However, I found the creamy, out-of-focus refraction looked nicer anyway. I'll leave the focus-stacking to Lord V.
