I'd been keen to shoot Zenith Beach for a while as I'd visited previously but never shot it properly.
It was for the most part a pretty uneventful sunrise, however once the sun had really popped up there was some nice tones in the cloud and the golden light on the rocks looked great.
You can see Mt Tomaree in the background, which my previous post (the pano) was shot from.

Think of me, think of me fondly
When we've said goodbye
Remember me once in a while
Please promise me, you'll try
When you find that once again you long
To take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment
Spare a thought for me
We never said our love was evergreen
Or as unchanging as the sea
But if you can still remember
Stop and think of me
Think of all the things
We've shared and seen
Don't think about the way
Things might have been
Think of me, think of me waking
Silent and resigned
Imagine me trying too hard
To put you from my mind
Recall those days, look back on all those times
Think of those things we'll never do
There will never be a day
When I won't think of you
One of the greatest sunrises I have ever witnessed. Even after the golden hours, Yosemite was as photogenic as you would expect with morning fog quickly dissipating from sheer rays of the sun.
It was the very 1st time I witnessed such low fog cover which literally hung to the valley floor until the 1st rays of sun. I became super excited and tried to cover the entire valley floor in matter of minutes and on the way spotted this lone tree in the middle of the meadow. I wasted no time, literally running to this spot through knee deep dried grass and bushes to make it just in time for the golden rays of sun. The feeling was magical! I hope I did justice to this wonderful setting.
In the very background, one can see the majestic half dome dusting off some early morning snow.
Zenith Beach, Port Stephens
The tide was up when I was at the beach for sunrise and I'm told there are quite a few more options with rocks at low tide. I liked playing around with the reflection of Mount Tomaree in the wet sand. I also liked this shot because of the fleeting circular whirlpool that formed as the wave swept back to sea. It's the kind of thing you only notice later when you're viewing the shots on the big screen back at home.

In captioning my snapshots I usually eschew such Star Trekkie sounding lingo (the show had a wonderful penchant for the invention of awesomely scientific sounding phrases which actually meant absolutely nothing)
However, here I was, looking up at the Zenith (the sky point directly overhead), this is a (geo)magnetic phenomena, and, of course, the Earth's magnetic field is resonating from the impact of electrical particles launched from the sun ......
