We drove to Zion National Park for the day. The park was so crowded with people it seemed that everyone else had the same idea. It probably seemed even more crowded to us because we have spent so much time in remote places recently. We decided to leave but on the way out happened to snag a parking spot along the road. Then we dropped down into the wash which runs below the road. We hiked a few miles along the wash and ran into very few people, most of them stayed up near the road. We found several lovely slot canyons.

Another handheld shot I took the day we hiked up to Canyon Overlook.

Another from our hike in The Narrows in Zion National Park, Utah, in 2017.

You can see a couple of people in this photo which was taken on our return. We were on the first bus to the start of the canyon.

I love Zion , and all of Utah . They could put a big fench around Utah and call almost the whole state a National Park. We will return someday soon . This was taken with my good ole Canon Powershot .

If you look close you can see the hikers in the right/left of the picture hiking the trail. I think they might get wet. But Zion looks beautiful sunny or cloudy!

This was one of the most beautiful places I have ever experienced at sunset. And this image is one of the most frustrating experiences I have had in processing. No matter what I tried I could not get an image that approximates the beauty of the place. In order to be able to let it go and move on, I am loading this version.

Hope everyone has a terrific week. Happy Slider Sunday!

The mountain in this photo is the Watchman, an iconic Zion view. I had hoped to hop the shuttle to better views but three of the shuttle stops were closed so I had to settle for a parking lot shot!

The Riverside Walk Trail in Zion National Park. A view of the Virgin River winding thru Mystery Canyon. This is between the Temple of Sinawava and The Narrows. The trail is a short and mostly flat hike. Parking is limited at the trailhead though but there are buses. This park is a great day trip from Las Vegas. There is also lodging here if you need an early start on a trail. A hiker's paradise. #NPS #ZionNationalPark #RiversideWalkTrail

Situated in the southwestern corner of Utah near the Nevada and Arizona borders, Zion National Park is a convenient stop for those visiting Salt Lake City, Las Vegas or Grand Canyon National Park. Accessible from State Route 9 or Interstate 15, Zion offers visitors a variety of activities across several geographic regions. It started out as Mukuntuweap National Monument in 1909, but was granted national park status by the U.S. Congress in 1919.
