I have always LOVED pens so I just had to buy this 84-set "Gel-Writer" pens from Costco yesterday. AC had noticed it and right away, we both fell in love with the set. She likes to doodle and I like them just to have when I write cards, etc. This 84 set of gel pens sells for $16.99 . . not bad considering the pens alone sells for $1.50 or more. So far the ink quality is great . . . we had to try them out as soon as we got home. :-)

One of the first American writers I felt I 'got' in my first year at University was Transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau. Whilst his exploits at Walden Pond may have been flawed in some ways, I've always had a great respect for his desire to explore the very stuff of what it is to be a human being. Not surprisingly, going to Walden Pond on my holiday was a treat.
