"I Still Can See Your Face"

At least one moment everyday

I hear the echo of your voice

And though it's only in my mind,

It stays with me, I have no choice

I reached for you as if you're here

Your tender touch, your warm embrace

And though it's been so many years

I still can see your face

Despite I come quite frequent to this location nearby my home, I especially like to visit when the lake is frozen and we have such magical wintry conditions like this morning in early January, 2020. This shot consists of a fourteen vertical exposures. Nevertheless, the stitched panoramic result was quite hard to crop, as I wanted to show the nice structure of the big poplar tree on the left, as well as the fallen tree on the right. That's why I came around with the very wide format at the end.

Macro Mondays: Inspired by a song

Paperback writer by the Beatles

This song was written bij John Lennon and Paul McCartney in 1966. Paul got the idea for this song and was inspired by the Penguin paperbacks.

The Nobel Prizes were established by Alfred Nobel, a Swedish chemist, inventor (of dynamite), and businessman, who left the bulk of his fortune in his will to create the awards for achievements in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, and peace, first awarded in 1901.

Who he was: A wealthy inventor who held 355 patents, most famously for dynamite, and was also a writer and scientist.

His motivation: He wanted to recognize those who conferred the "greatest benefit to humankind".

The will: He signed his will in 1895, and the first prizes were awarded five years after his death in 1896, fulfilling his vision.

VIANDEN - with its castle in the background, one of the most important historical buildings in Europe, there is still the home of Victor Hugo where the illustrious writer stayed in 1891 as an exile. All in all a beautiful old medieval city in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Was she a writer ? Was she a dream ?

I really don't know ;-)

An updated version of a shot taken last year. I've been experimenting lately with taming the contrast levels of Fuji's RAF files to see what a "softer" touch might produce.

Dear Sir or Madam, will you read my book?

It took me years to write, will you take a look?

It's based on a novel by a man named Lear

And I need a job

So I wanna be a paperback writer

Paperback writer

It's a dirty story of a dirty man

And his clinging wife doesn't understand

His son is working for the Daily Mail

It's a steady job

But he wants to be a paperback writer

Paperback writer

Paperback writer (paperback writer)

It's a thousand pages, give or take a few

I'll be writing more in a week or two

I could make it longer if you like the style

I can change it 'round

And I wanna be a paperback writer

Paperback writer

If you really like it you can have the rights

It could make a million for you overnight

If you must return it you can send it here

But I need a break

And I wanna be a paperback writer

Yellow is the color of my true love's hair

In the mornin', when we rise

In the mornin', when we rise

That's the time, that's the time

I love the best

Blue's the color of the sky

In the mornin', when we rise

In the mornin', when we rise

That's the time, that's the time

I love the best

Green's the color of the sparklin' corn

In the mornin', when we rise

In the mornin', when we rise

That's the time, that's the time

I love the best

Mellow is the feelin' that I get

When I see her, mm hmm

When I see her, uh huh

That's the time, that's the time

I love the best

Freedom is a word I rarely use

Without thinkin', mm hmm

Without thinkin', uh huh

Of the time, of the time

I am bundled up in Le La, called Angel Xmas, an exclusive at Swank that comes with a woven sweater, mini shorts, cute earmuffs embroidered with playful reindeer, boots, socks, and a fur coat, making it a perfect balance of cute and cozy -- it’s a look that says holiday spirit. I snuggle into my “love coat” that is part of this look that is so fuzzy, so warm, like a hug made of winter clouds. My thick knit socks and plush fur boots keep me toasty. I feel like I’ve stepped straight into a Nordic holiday dream—the kind of look that turns a winter sleigh ride into a potential love story. It’s festive, flirty, and fabulously seasonal. Angel Christmas made by Le La is exclusive at Swank and is made for LARAX, Reborn, Erika, Kupra, and Legacy. Le La Angel. It also comes with a 24 color-changing HUD for the top, socks, fur boots, and earmuffs, fur jacket, inner jacket, shorts, and boots.

Homage to Beatrix Potter and her roguish creation Peter Rabbit. While I love Beatrix Potters stories and wonderful illustrations it is her work as a conservationist that I admire most.

Helen Beatrix Potter 28 July 1866 – 22 December 1943) was an English writer, illustrator, natural scientist, and conservationist. She is best known for her children's books featuring animals, such as The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which was her first commercially published work in 1902. Her books, including 23 Tales, have sold more than 250 million copies. An entrepreneur, Potter was a pioneer of character merchandising. In 1903, Peter Rabbit was the first fictional character to be made into a patented stuffed toy, making him the oldest licensed character. -- Courtesy Wikipedia
