I know it's terribly wasteful, but I love wrapping presents with shiny paper and ribbon. I can do without the shiny paper, but the ribbon is an indulgence that I would rather not do without. I try my best to reuse it though. Last year I used the last of my old ribbon, but luckily I hit the jackpot the only time I've been to Costco this year. No dollar store selection could compete with what I found there.

I'm thinking I'm going to need to buy a camera sometime in the next few months. Up to this point I have been using my Mom's Canon Rebal, but since moving out to my new place, I don't have access to it except on the weekends. My plan is to buy a decent Canon SLR, invest in some nice lenses over the next few years and eventually upgrade to a much better body. What camera would y'all recommend? I'm thinking about the Canon EOS Rebel T1i...anyone have that camera? What do you think of it?
...after my return home. Jan, my boyfriend, had returned earlier some ten days ago - we spent two weeks together travelling around the Pelloponese in Greece and I stayed longer for the renovation of the " new " apartment my parents bought. He's been reading this book and got torn. So, I fixed it a little bit by using this old Ikea wrapping paper.

Another wonderful Christmas story - this lovely & very clever lady saves wrapping paper all year. She turns all this paper into colourful & unique Christmas decorations, some of which you can see here. These are now hanging from the pergola & from trees and bushes all around the house - beautiful & sparkling stars, garlands, bells & balls.

When I was young, my mother would wrap one of my Christmas presents in this wrapping paper, which she carefully stored each year. Now it is just one section of the original wrapping paper, which my husband carefully slips under the ribbon on one of my Christmas presents each year. He's back again in 2025!
I just realized that some of my gift wrap papers (those in sheets, not in rolls) are actually 1:sqrt2 rectangles. Who would've thought.
It's not of standard A sizes (neither it's B or C series for that matter), but the ratio is just exactly right. I don't know about you guys, but it's a big deal to me :D
