One more for the upcoming workspace series - testing grout colors for the sun mosaic.
The colors have to be right because once they're in there, they're in there forever. And I'll be looking at the wrong colors and saying "Grrrr!"
So I built a test piece with some scraps and it's a good thing because the colors I had in mind didn't work. Then tried to find the right colors - I wanted a bright yellow for the sun and a pale blue for the sky. I'd bought a dark pure blue from Home Depot for the bathroom floor a few houses ago but Home Depot now carries mostly beige. 27 different shades of beige, but they're all beige.
C-cure has some nice colors but not what I was looking for, so I tried mixing. Carefully combining colors, recording the amounts, then letting the results dry down to get the true result. In the end all of the results had too much green for the sky so I went "straight out of the bag". Not quite what I wanted...
This sort of behavior is why it takes me forever to get anything done.
Day 19 of my 365. This is my floor office for tonight. I don't use the best or the newest. However, as much as a tech nut as I am, gear will only get you so far! the image is made by the individual behind the gear.
Arrrr finally got around to cleaning up my work area, haha. Here's a small selection of my big toy collection, most of which are stuffed away in a box!
Trabajo desde mi casa o mejor dicho, desde mi pieza... yo sé que no es muy recomendable tener la oficina en el lugar que duermes pero en mi calidad de estudiante me permite hacer el quiebre entre las dos cosas.

Next to my bed, somewhere amidst the remote controls (clockwise) for the TV, the flashy rave star, the iPod, the electric blanket, the RC for my bed-Mac, and the stereo, lies my hipster PDA for those last minute thoughts and sometimes even to capture a dream.
My workstation with the doors open to show where I keep the surge suppressor and networking equipment. Its also where I charge the battery for my cordless drill.
i decided to re-arrange my small room. a little more functional, a little more cozy. something appropriate for the coming autumn.
