My friends ... Dan, Blondie, Red and Numero Uno

Workspace in the three-store building with photo equipment only.

Go-Ahead Dennis Dart SLF LDP164 (Y864TGH) is captured in Black Prince Road, Lambeth on the 360 route. It is passing the entrance to Southbank House, since renamed China Works. This was my place of work between February 2007 and June 2015.

The building has a rich history that is reflected in its present name, as it originally served as the headquarters for Royal Doulton Pottery. The site is now owned by the Workspace Group, which leases out office suites in the building.

We landed in Southbank House after our corporate parent deemed that our publishing operation was no longer a core activity. Four of us staved off redundancy by taking over the business as an independent operation. Taking on two additional staff and using freelancers for the design and setting functions, our team of 6-7 settled into our new surroundings very happily.

On reaching pensionable age, I handed over my baton to a superb successor who continues in the job today. After a second business partner retired, the wheel turned full circle: a new and more enlightened management at our old parent company deemed that our business could indeed add value, and my old colleagues rejoined the fold in January 2024.

Custom made curved table with pretty good ergonomics. Everything is in reach and it's pretty comfortable to work here.

This is where I get everything done. Instead of having a regular desk, I just use my coffee table and am always able to sit on my couch. The lap desk that my Macbook sits on makes this easy and comfortable. I do everything from basic internetting and email, social networking, and school work, to working on my stand up comedy and recording my weekly podcast CB Radio here.

My very messy computer desk. Its somewhat overloaded with monitors. The one on the right is sitting on my TV stand, and the one on the left is hanging almost 3 inches off the desk.

Here is the view while I'm working...

A few 1080p Viewsonic monitors mounted on a dual-monitor stand (clamped to the desk). The brand name was printed in white at the bottom of the monitors, which I find distracting, so I covered the logos with black electrical tape.

I'll note various things so you know what's what.

New workspace configuration since school ended and I brought my other monitor home. MacBook pro runs heavy with two external monitors connected but I love the increased screen space, especially in portrait.

For geeks:

- Lumia 930 on wireless charging pad

- Left monitor: Dell U2311H (pretty old)

- Right monitor: Dell U2414H (near bezel-less)

- Laptop: 15" MBP Retina 1st Gen (sitting atop of an old Drobo)

Workspace at a coworking space in Brooklyn, New York.

Such a lovely place to work.. I've been getting a ton done in this space.

Herman Miller Aeron chairs. These were purchased at an auction of Enron furniture shortly after the bankruptcy. Referred to as our "Crooked E" chairs.

My not-so-recently updated workspace, now with double the monitors!

my husband and i screwed the extension power cord, wireless router and DSL modem on the right side of our computer table to get the tangled wires off the floor

I kept a messy office. In case you didn't know....

Dell Lattide D820 Notebook Core 2 Duo T7400, 4GB RAM, 500 GB Sata 2 HD, LG 22' Screen, Playstation 3 120GB + BD Games + Less Paul Wireless Guitar Hero Guitar, QNAP TS209 Pro NAS Storage RAID 1 (2x Seagate 1TB), External USB 300 GB HD, External USB 1TB HD, Several Books, Toys, WiFi Router

To the right of the shelves, I have a corner designated for any unsuspecting visitor. This is right above the visitor's chair.

Actually, this tree house is more a multi purpose structure. Even more-so than the cottage, as this opens to the larger deck.

that's my relaxing workspace on my new sofa. By the way... this is a banana tree.

In our family room - quite disorganized and quite the eyesore when you're trying to plan a party. An undeniable mess.

I took some pics of my workspace at Primal Screen back in February before I dismantled everything and left for LAIKA.

This is me. I collect a lot of things. Maybe too many things.

My writing workspace. Really only two things that are important for me. The monitor is a 32" sharp LCD, on which I can fit 3 pages side-by-side. I find this handy as I have a lot of dialog threads that come and go, and being able to see something a character said a few pages back keeps it fresh in my mind (it also leads to unwanted editing, which can be a problem).

The keyboard is a Kinesis Maxim, which I love. You can have it lay flat like a normal keyboard, or split it at whatever angle you like, as well as different height adjustments. The lack of numeric keypad is ideal (to me), as it allows for the keyboard to be centered under the monitor, making long writing sessions easier on the back.
