Sitting on my working table, among other bunch of coughunfinishedcough stuff. I'll try to get some good pictures of him standing and posing this week end.

the space by my loom. a tangle of incredibly bright carpet binding, scissors, rolls of tapestry that are off the loom and waiting for finishing

This is my workspace

Needed a banner for my etsy shop. So that's how this came together.

I haven't had an actual desk of my own in almost four years. Not that this is much of a step up, but it's a workspace! I had 30" of unclaimed wall, so I figured this unit would fit the bill.

It's a stock Ikea PS Laptop Workstation, but to spruce it up a little bit and create an impact-dampening surface for my laptop, I added some cork to the surfaces using this self adhesive 18" x 4' roll of cork lining.

It had to be mounted over the moulding, so it actually sits on two Ikea shelf brackets, and is secured in the back by three toggle bolts via holes drilled in the rear panel.

Here is a pic of the full space. It is actually suposed to be a dining area but the sliding glass door bring in great light for painting

It's not much, but it's what I call home for almost three class periods a day.

This is where I work. I use a Lenovo T61p, NEC MultiSync 2080UX+, Mackie 1402-VLZPro, Logitech G15 (old), Razer Diamondback, and a Huey Pro.

Current workspace

The inside of my new corner of the world. Not done yet (is it ever done?) but getting better.

This is where I spend 40+ hours a week. I'm a technical writer, so my work is pretty sedentary. I had to bring in some plants and get a little creative to liven things up a bit, lest working in a cube farm obliterate my personality.

Of everything in this photo, I'm proudest of the "DIY monitor stand" which holds up my monitors and aging Macbook Pro. It's little more than a couple of shelves I cannibalized from the completely unnecessary bookshelf I had in my office. My rationale was, if I had more than like 10 books, I might need a bookshelf. And I privileged ergonomic concerns over my nerd impulse to have a place to keep my word horde.

I've got my indoors desk with a Mac mini and random desk clutter, I do sometimes edit articles on my iPad while walking in circles in the living room, and pound out editorials sitting under a tree near the picnic table.

This is Anna's workspace, with her sewing machine and computer. Alex has a studio for his illustration nearby in Greenpoint.

A very sketchy-stitched photo of my current workspace. :)

I loved pin art when I was a kid.

Finally able to take a decent shot of my workspace with my new camera.

We are at home. Florence was so beautiful and really inspiring! This is my work place today. I like tassels very much. This is a little study for a bigger work.

Here, a sashiko project waiting to be pillow-ized (waiting for months now) hangs nagging at me to finish it.
