The Workforce Development Working Group will promote competencies, credentials, and career ladders in key industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, and the service sector. Participants will also discuss innovative tools and initiatives that target educationally underserved populations such as incumbent workers, veterans, and the rural community workforce.

I had a go at using my Fader ND Filter to get some "people blur" shots. Not too sure about the results but it was fun trying.
Improvement is fueled by learning, so training is an important component of the Lean effort in state government. Here, state employees are on their way to earning their Green Belts. Leading the session is Al Rakas, a systems improvement consultant and certified Green Belt with the LeanOhio office.

Col. Hank Dodge, U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I commander conducted an awards ceremony for his workforce at the Camp Red Cloud theater May 18. He presented 19 Department of the Army honorary awards, 6 Koran Service Medals, 24 certificates of appreciation to departing Korean employees, 11 certificates and pins to retiring Korean employees, and 23 length of service awards totaling 465 years to Korean employees. In 2014, the U.S. economy added more than 2.7 million jobs. However, the employment rate is the lowest in almost 30 years and low-skilled workers continue to experience poor social and economic outcomes. In 2015, the Workforce Development Working Group will convene leaders from government, business, foundations, and nonprofits to develop cross-sector strategies that equip low-income Americans with the skills needed to ascend today’s emerging career ladders.
