We won't be complete on this side of heaven, but what a wonderful thing to hope for.

Work continues on the GP55 Miss Cabo Marine

This is where I do my best edublogging from My Home , mostly reading from my Bloglines.

As an elementary principal I write a weekly blog for my staff each Sunday called

Almost Monday.

As a Director of Technology Planning I write occasionallly on Pep Tech Talk.

Somebody has to do the dishes at the fire station.

The man himself who has made it all happen Wiggins.

There is much more work to do on the new desk and of course the walls, they will soon be boarded over and clad with peg boards and retro 70's rock posters.

It is a good feeling to see something built from a rough sketch I drew some months ago.

The Fundació Antoni Tàpies was created in 1984 by the artist Antoni Tàpies to promote the study and knowledge of modern and contemporary art.

To that end, the Fundació opened its doors in June 1990 in the building of the former Editorial Montaner i Simon publishing house, the work of the Modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Constructed between 1880 and 1885, at an early stage of the evolution of Catalan Modernism, the building was the first in the Eixample district to integrate industrial typology and technology, combining exposed brick and iron, into the fabric of the city centre.

These are two works by Tapies exposed, Book 1 and chair, both are made of iron and painted over.

My mom and I swap trades every now and then. I make her a letterhead and she sews me a work apron. SWEET!

heading home from work recently, view down from Southbridge to the Cowgate at the lower part of the Old Town. This is an entire block which was destroyed by a huge fire about a decade ago. Arguments have raged since then about what sort of building would replace the old one, some architects arguing it is a rare chance for a modern building in the area, others (rightly, I think) saying there are plenty of other parts of the city where you can build a modern construction, but the heart of the historic Old Town isn't one of them.

Like many parts of the multi-level Edinburgh from the bridge you might have thought this was a two or three storey building opening onto the street but a glimpse down beneath the bridge (which is lined with buildings so many don't realise it is a bridge) and see more levels descending beneath. Edinburgh is good at playing tricks like this! The old building was home to a major Fringe venue and many artist's studios on lower levels and the university higher up, everything ruined by the fire, sadly. Improvised these quick shots on the way home from work, dark here by half past four now, jammed the camera in the railings of the bridge, angling it down and hoping it would hold it steady enough to get a couple of reasonable shots, clicked several, most useless but these three came out not too bad, considering

I just made a nice little work space for me in the dining room. We have no extra bedroom's for a craft room, so this works out nicely!

We only see them when they are on duty, but behind the scenes, they have daily routines and training that keeps them a valuable part of our city’s Police Force.”

This is as far as I have come now - I laid them out on the floor just to see what I have going on.... and there are 8 in all now, in varying sizes and drama.

Hmmmm.... what to do?! Giving it quite some thought....

Voltron helps me out with my duties at work. He guards my desk when I am away and he scares away the Jesus Lady, who believes he is demonic.

Background:

One day, Matt (aka Green Hocker) and I were discussing the huge effect that the 1980's robot-craze had on our lives. There were Transformers, Go-Bots, Johnny-5 (from Short Circuit), Konky & Magic Screen (from Pee-Wee's Playhouse), among others. I told him how I never had a Voltron (I had the Berryessa Flea Market version that broke after the first couple days), and he told me he had one lying around somewhere, and the next day I had a Voltron!

Note: Voltron was recalled in 1986, because of a lead-paint hazard. (Maybe it's a good thing I didn't have one when I was young!)
