Iowa Interstate uses their Jordan Spreader to work the south side ditch along the mainline between Silvis and Carbon Cliff, IL.
IAIS 714 piloted the train due to the lengthy deadhead from Silvis to Bureau after this work was done.

I find this very inspiring and restful, hopefully others will too. As a mosaic artist myself, I can truly appreciate how many hours of work have gone into the creation of these beautiful pieces. My favourite ... ? The mirror in the centre. It's fantastic !! (A close up of it is in the next photo).

The Nova Cinema is a non-profit organization managed by a collective of individuals who work on a volunteer basis dedicated to independently produced films and videos.
In existence for 25 years now, Nova has become an important reference point for alternative, unconventional or simply different approaches to the audiovisual arts, in Belgium and abroad.
Before the northbound Whittier Freight arrived at Brookman I was able to quickly get a shot of the tied down work train with the remnants of a rainbow in the sky. Unfortunately it was very short lived but nice while it lasted.
Old Iron Work black and white brings out the strong texture in this old iron fence piece, shot in North Carolina.
Sometimes filming is precise work and filming takes place in any kind of positions and places,,, no office work.
There's a few more folks who "dressed" up for Halloween . . . more to follow . . .
P.S. I actually brought a bottle of Hawaiian Rum (emptied the content of the bottle & filled it half way with soy sauce) and a "drink" with an umbrella topping but it's not pictured. ;-)

That spring the chickadees spent several days flitting through a sprawling old apple tree beside the house my girlfriend and I had rented on Vancouver Island. They were plucking and eating the blossoms. She was concerned that they would deplete the apple crop, but as it turned out, they were simply thinning the blossoms which created room for large apples to develop. I don't know what kind of apples they were - probably an heirloom variety - but I've never had better: huge, red, firm, very sweet but also tangy.
I used her camera for this shot - a Nikon D70. Although I'd been scanning my slides and negatives for years, this was my first foray into digital photography. I loved the immediacy (what a novelty!), although the 6 MP sensor didn't exactly knock my sox off. I still shot a lot of film that year. One year later Nikon released its 10 MP D200 and I made the transition full time.
Obviously we've come a long way in 17 years, but I'm pleased that the older work in my files isn't a total writeoff as far as quality goes. Although I don't think this shot ranks with my best, the Chestnut-backed Chickadee is a species I don't see here on the prairie, so I'm happy to have a number of shots in my collection.

Actually, I'm not nearly as frazzled as this suggests. Things are going very smoothly, and I'm on number 5 of 8.
