Brandmark and brandstyle (look and feel)
Note
I was responsible for developing the basic elements of the Pick n Pay brand. This included the brandmark, corporate typeface selection, photographic concept and the window graphic but not the idea for the window graphic to interact with the subject matter.

Brand identity for Cashmere startup 'Wholly Goat', who produce a premium, socially and environmentally conscious product, imported from Nepal.
Along with writing the positional statement, commissioning and art directing the logotype and photography, and compiling comprehensive brand guidelines, my role also included producing all marketing materials including a short film detailing the Wholly Goat 'journey',

Monomarks by Graham ‘Logo’ Smith: a collection of the individual logomarks, icons & symbols from my logo design portfolio. Some of the Monomark images may not belong to a logo design, but may be an individually crafted icon or symbol, and therefore, not used to represent a company, business or individual.
Equally, not all my logo designs will be in the Monomark collection if they are primarily of a typographic style, usually called by one of three names: logotype, wordmark or typemark. The exception to this is if the ‘logo’ is just wording without any associated mark, symbol or icon, and has some element of custom typographic design associated with it.
Each Monomark is a graphical/visual component of a logo design displayed in glorious Techniblack.

New work: Logo, business card & correspondence card (as well as a small, temporary website) for Azenes GmbH, Actuarial Consulting. The core concept for this wordmark was to achieve a tension-filled balance between trustworthy stability and potential dynamism. Type: Breuer Text (tweaked in the logo), combined in printed matter with Ibis Text.

In the Branding 1 course, students are challenged with positioning a new or re-branded product in a crowded marketplace. Through research and analysis, each student develops a strategy and concept, the logo and all of the assets for various applications of their brand.
With his project 'Hardy Meats', Ira Hardy developed the concept and brand for a modern "honest butcher".

Logo for Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse in Akron, OH.
When looking at the wordmark for Wasabi, several issues are immediately apparent. The most striking to me is the obvious use of a photoshop filter on the entirety of the logo, seeking a 'shiny 3-D look' via the use of an Adobe Photoshop 'emboss' filter. Besides that issue, there are also other glaring problems.
The lettering, upon close inspection, is actually a varying color of blue. The weight of the letters is far too light, as well as being uneven due to the letters being drawn by hand. Because of the weight, color, and visual effects the wordmark would not reduce well. In addition, the kerning of the logo is awkward at best; the first 'a' looks virtually orphaned in the middle of the word, surrounded by so much negative space that it loses all connection to the letters surrounding it.
It's obvious that the artist was trying to go for an 'eastern' feel with the logo, but there is little to no flow between the letters, and because of the spacing issues as well as the odd letter shape it commands little of the peaceful presence that you would expect from an upper-scale Japanese restaurant.
While the 'i" being a sprout is cute, it has very little to do with the actual logo. It doesn't seem related to horseradish, nor does the 'i' being the only letter in script help the logo retain any cohesiveness whatsoever. Overall, I can vaguely see where the artist was trying to go with this logo, but it's poorly executed.
In everything. This project, work, relations.. it has to do with the recent plans about moving, new month, new projects, `slow` processing .. It`s good to be in such a state from time to time i guess cuz it force you to look at the things once again, from some dif perspectives..but it knows to be such a weight sometimes..
