It's happened. When I started spinning, I didn't think I'd ever forget a single piece of fiber I worked with. Now I'm like one of those parents who goes through 7 names trying to get their child's attention - "Anna Roger Teddy Adam Emma... George!"
It's purple. I don't know what kind of wool it is. I dyed it when I needed to fill up the crockpot because I didn't have a full load for the dyeing. It might be anonymous superwash, might be rambouillet, might be something else... I wish I could remember. It's wool, though - I know that much.
None of these pictures shows a true color on my monitor. I'll try again another time. Why did I upload so many inaccurate pictures? Guilt over forgetting George's origins, probably.
this retro inspired striped hat is hand knit in a smoke free home from eco wool!
available in my shop. Urbanknitfits
I dyed some mohair with walnut hulls then blended it with white wool. Spun to lace weight and ready to knit.
took these photos with the can to show size and proportion this ball is 1400 yards of wool and it took FOREVER to ball up and had to be done by hand b/c it is TOO much for my ball winder. i got this at MD Sheep & Wool 2010 (yesterday) and have it balled so i can start a sweater with it. the color is called 'heather' and it looks like wine/purple/blue/brown all mixed in a blend. i like it. :)
i managed to win a prize draw on the poshyarn.co.uk blog. dee sent me this beautiful skein of alpaca yarn. it came wrapped in gorgeous pink tissue paper and is as soft, shimmery and luxurious as it looks.
thank you, dee!
I want to dive into this yarn.
Cerulean blues swirl with rich shades of green, reminiscent of moss or seaweed... gently sparkling silver and green strands of glitz shine like reflected starlight. This is a richly colored yarn!
Because it is punta wool, it doesn't have the softest hand, but it is perfect for a hat or head scarf, or something else worn on the outside. You'll enjoy working with the texture!
