This is a broom I made for my daughter's witch costume. It's made from ornamental brush/twigs lashed to a stick found on a hike one day, various cloths, twine, rope, baby doll parts, stain, lacquer and spray paint.
Some trees outside the Promontory office building, Rancho Bernardo are of San DIego the morning of 10/22/07. That's the sun, through the smoke and ash during the "Witch" fire.

A man was sweeping the streets in Switzerland with this. Have you ever seen anyone sweep your street?!
Yesterday, I had time to visit three places. First I went to see Nur and Juju over at Poetika. They have changed it again. Nur's vision and style is pure art. I love checking out what they do on that Sintetika sim. Beautiful glow on the trees on the second floor cast a glow in the chill area. I was there for a long time listening DJ Juju Dollinger spin a nice minimal set.
Later that day, I went and stopped in to say hi to DJ Particle over at Organica. She is also known on the Second LIfe grid as Emi Halical. This cute little avie can kick ass! LOL! I hung out there with the gang and listened to her spin an awesome psy set. Woot Emi!
Later that evening, my angel and I headed for the new sim called Magic of Oz. Totally inspired by the Wizard of Oz, we walked along the yellow brick road following it to Munchkin Land, the scarecrow's wheatfield, along the river to the Emerald City and then to the scary Witches Castle.
You can shop at Magic of Oz, too. Go to the Emerald City for cool stuff. Also, these sim owners peppered the entire place with gifts. You just have to click on the magic items (not telling you what... lol). You gotta go and see this sim... and the music? OMG, Dorothy is singing "Over the Rainbow!"

While the costumes were entertaining enough, this witch occasionally grabbed a variety of poses too.

Witches Fingers Cookies
Recipe:
1 C Butter, softened
1 C Icing Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Almond extract
1 tsp Vanilla
2 2/3 C Flour
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Salt
3/4 C Almonds, whole blanched
Decorator gel or (1/4 c icing sugar + 1 tsp water + colouring (red or green).
Beat together butter, sugar, egg, almond extract and vanilla. Beat in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes. Work with 1/4 of the dough at a time, leaving the remainder in the fridge to keep cool. Take a spoonful of dough and shape into a finger for each cookie.
Press almond firmly into end for nail. Squeeze in centre to create knuckle shape; using paring knife, make slashes in several places to form knuckle.
Place on lightly greased baking sheet; bake in 325°F (160°C) oven for 20-25 minutes or until pale golden. Let cool for 3 minutes. Lift up almond; squeeze red decorator gel onto nail bed and press almond back into place, so gel oozes out from underneath. Remove from baking sheets; let cool on racks. Repeat with remaining dough.
