I climbed up to the highest point in the national park next to my doorstep, Pyhä-Luosto. Top of "Noitatunturi" (translates roughly as "Witch fell" or "Witch Mountain").
And on top of the fell, there was this curious little pine growing.
It made me think that maybe this one is an eye of the witch that resides on top of that windy fell, watching over the vast forests of central lapland.
Who knew there were SO many witches in Morro Bay. Every year they come out to paddle on the Bay just before Halloween. Spooky!!!
Halloween photoshoot - When I saw this model dressed as a witch, I wanted to capture an image completely different from the other photographers. I made sure I was the last photographer to shoot her before she changed outfits. My idea was to make her fly. But as we all know, she would need a broom. Unfortunately, she didn't bring one and there were none in the barn. Lucky for us, one of the other models was very talented and able to fashion a homemade broom out of what she was able to find in the fields.
I used 2 cut tree stumps stacked one on top of the other to raise her off the ground and her dad assisted in making her cloak fly behind her. The sky was added in post.
Softbox camera right.
The "Witch" did return and still haunts the spot.

Witch: Use these love potions on the one you adore and on yourself child.
Ayumi: Oh there not for me ma'am. There for my friend she was too scared to show up herself.
Witch: Your a brave one child...alright then follow these instructions carefully. They must both be taken on a full moon to work. If not, the potions will not work and the results will be opposite.
Stuff I did years ago. (On account of a model of Bob Hobbs.) I need it to link from my portfolio.
I actually have drawn them (not traced them) and then colored them digitally with Gimp, which I had a kind of forgotten. I thought I have never painted digitally before these days. I can see a passion here I must have lost a kind of.
IC2118, the Witch Head Nebula.
This was a tough target to image from a city (Bortle 9), but happy with how it came out. Gonna plan to add more data to it next winter.

The Witch is in Cafe is all about coffee, books, and wander. Bring a friend or two and stay a spell.
We have two witch hazels in the garden - this is the yellow flowered one (Hamamelis x Intermedia 'Pallida') that is growing in a large pot on the west side of the house.
"Shall I see you tonight, sister, bathed in magic greet?
Shall we meet on the hilltop where the two roads meet?
We will form the circle, hold our hands and chant
Let the great one know what it is we want"

October 27 - Witch (duo tone)
This witch doctor is as close as I could get to photographing a witch today. He was painted on the side of a totem pole that was made for me when I was a child. (It's in the basement at my parents' house!)
