hate to take longexposures in -20c

It's getting dark, and thoughts are racing through your mind that Wolves—whose fresh tracks were spotted here—could be nearby. Soon a train becomes audible itself miles distant. Now, checking your shutter speed, and exposure take priority over the thought of not being on the top of the food chain. Several minutes later, an eastbound BNSF Railway freight lights up the night at Tuscor, Montana, on Montana Rail Link's 4th Subdivision. The classic Northern Pacific searchlights and cantilever signal bridge protect the west end of the siding here.

Even though it was mid-January, the Christmas trees all around SkellefteƄ were still beacons of light in the long night. This one looked especially beautiful, all frosted with snow and standing in the middle of the beautiful wooden buildings of Bonnstan, the old church village.

Huge news!!

Some of my New York snow photos along with an interview with me are currently featured in Glamour with information about my New York photography book: NY Through The Lens which accompanies the photos and interview.

What made this interview special is that it was conducted by someone who grew up with me in Queens. Danica Lo is now the Editor at Large Online for Glamour Magazine.

We spent a lot of time together as pre-teens in the 1990s and I have her to thank for introducing me to Morrissey and Siouxsie and the Banshees! It’s wonderful to see how well she is doing in her career. Very happy for her!

The interview covers interesting tidbits about my family's unique history as well as my tips people looking to take their creative passions and make careers out of them. I am lucky enough to be a full-time photographer and it's something I am grateful for every day of my life. It's nice to be able to share some of my tips with everyone :).

Hope you enjoy!

OK, I know this isn't really a blue moon, but I like the sound of it, anyway.

Winter night long exposure, Sony a6300 mirrorless camera. Coronavirus lockdown, July 10, 2021

Thanks to everyone who takes time to view, comment or fave my photo!

On my last night in SkellefteƄ, I went for a walk with my colleagues to this church. It was a couple kilometres -- not great on my leg that I later found out was broken from an incident a few days prior -- but being able to see it in this eerie light was worth it.
