I visited a few of my favorite trees following a recent ice storm. They all seem to have made it.

Taken walking in Dalby Forest - December 2010, I think it makes Dalby look like a rain forest!

I took this in my neighborhood.

I quilted with my go-to thread: Sulky variegated light grays.

You can't actually get a sense of just how big this tree is from this photo. There are several in the park and they're all magnificent. The following link gives you some idea, if you have the time to view.

Almost an abstract of the light on Ash branches and through the ivy leaves. I couldn't make a real composition as there was too much clutter around it.

Always so picturesque in the winter. Catching a little of the late afternoon light.

The parasitic mistletoe plant growing on an unusual host tree - the hybrid medlar-thorn (or haw-medlar) Crataemespilus grandiflora.

This particular tree stands alone in the grounds and is remarkable for its shape and height.

I just love these winter trees day and night. this is after sunset, in the streetlight.

The lane from Cregan Gate towards New Mills, near Ladock.

This is the other shot I took, of some trees through the snow falling thick around me. The camera stayed in the bag most of the time though - the D300 is meant to be very sturdy and waterproof etc, but it totally freaked me out to see it covered in snow after half a minute out of the case. Not worth the risk!
