I was awakened by an odd Ssshhhhhh against my window tonight. When I looked out I discovered that a freezing rain was covering the neighborhood in a light, white blanket of ice. But what really caught my eye was how the falling drops of ice captured the light. In the photo the ice crystals appear almost like faerie lights in the trees.

Random fact: There is a hopeful, imaginative part of me that wants to believe that these 'lights' really are faeries! :)
